Moonroof Wind Deflector

If someone could respond back to me within the next couple of hours, that would be great (I am looking at an eBay auction). Does anyone know if the moonroof wind deflector is the same for all years of the 2nd gen TL? Will a 2003 deflector fit on my 2000?

Checking in the store and also online it appears they are all the same for 99-03.... confirm this with the dealer or one of the guys that run the onsite store here..... btw, don't get one, they look ugly, but I did hear that they do cut down on wind noise while driving at highway speeds with the sun roof open....... do a search...

And lets not forget... they scratch the paint! I dont like the looks of them!
Also, they really make the sunroof really feel small when you have it opened up.

But it is not for cosmetic purposes such as a body kit , it if for deflecting the wind while the sunroof is open and for that purpose it is worth it.

you could buy mine, I paid over 70buxs for it and took it off as soon as i saw how much damage it did.
I maintain high speed for long periods of time which probably made the shield rub harder on the paint but damn it scratched it up.

umm, had the deflector for over a year and half, no paint damage, if you install it right and as long only the rubber is pressed against the paint it is fine, i paid like 50 bux for OEM.

i love it.

I've got deflector since I got the car (2000). There is no paint damage under the rubber. However, there are blackened spots on the clearcoat from rubber that I cannot remove. I love that deflector. It cuts the wind noise and sun with partly open roof.

Here's what I bought. I like it and it's quiet on the highway.

There are clips that go under the sunroof opening lip the a rubber gasket seals it.

I suggest wrapping these clips in electrical tape (or similar tape) to prevent them from rubbing paint (metal to metal over paint contact). What happened to my car was that clips rubbed paint due to deflector vibration/moving slightly. Thus caused two rusted spots that I had to deal with later.

I just decided to remove the wind deflector from my car and found that there was a lot of dirt buildup underneath. There was some scratching but I was wondeing if a clay bar would help reduce the appearance of the scratches by removind the dirt in the scratches or is there a better way to deal with it?
