Mobil 1 High Mileage vs. Mobil 1 Extended Performance

Did a search and I couldn't find an answer. I know the Mobil 1 high mileage is the old formula, which is the good stuff. But what's the difference with the Mobil 1 extended performance. I usually go with the high mileage but the extended performance was on sale at Wal-Mart.

Is it okay to mix the 2 oils? I have a lil left over of the high mileage from my last oil change.

Thanks.

As long as it's the same weight you can mix them.

The extended performance from my understanding is the better oil.

Hmm really? When I searched I was reading that the high mileage stuff was the Old formula aka the good stuff. So I guess now the EP stuff is now the better stuff? lol

3k is a waste. the manufacturer (acura) recommends 7500 intervals

Mobil 1's website says the High Mileage is protection for up to 5000 miles or 6 months whereas the EP says up to 15000 miles. Plus, the High Mileage also has a lot of cleaners in it. Probably explains the shorter life. I normally get the EP.

there is an actual key differance in the base oil type used in the two.

one has the original formula-pre govt decision--and the new stuff has less quality base but gets to call itself the same as old good stuff
