mile(kilometer) stone
Just wanted to share turning 300,000 kms today in the TL, or
186,411.358 miles for you non Canadian types out there...
Original transmission, and the car still works very well for its age.
Might try to get another year out of it as long as the wear and tear expenses don't start getting out of hand.
I felt the resale value drop as the last 0's rolled into view, LOL
Cheers.....

For us non Canadians, 200k is our milestone mark.
Your TL has served you well and especially the tranny. If everything has been maintained and is still working well, you should be able to easily get a few more years out of the car.
The big things coming up soon are the T-belt service and just keeping the tranny fluid clean. Should the tranny take a crap, replace it with a donor "AV6" for about $1500 and then you could go for 300k. Your TL would make a good second car once you get a new one.
The car is worth more to you than the resale value dropping with the O's !!! Cheerz......

200K is a lotta miles, very nice to hit that one !
Timing was done at 260 K, so I'm good for a while....did a trans fluid service around 280K, but will certainly keep those happening at regular intervals.
Agreed on resale, I don't think the few thousand that it's worth now will buy me anything similar. My wife just retired, so it'd be nice to keep a car payment off the books for a while. Drive it 'till it says goodbye.
It might outlast me !

The last time my daughter's 00tl was in, it was at 276,301. It's on it's third trans; 07 accord the last time. The only 2 annoying things that are wrong are an oil pump to block seal that leaks, and a leaky rear main seal. They don't leak enough to require oil top-offs, just a mess under the engine, doesn't even leave spots when parked. I didn't replace the oil pump seal with the last timing belt, but I did replace the rear main seal....go figure?

^^^ At 276k, some minor oil leakage is easy to live with, IMO.
Maybe get it at the next T-belt service, if she still has the car.
Too bad about the rear seal. At least ya tried !!!
