maybe a fuse?

so i was working on my ac controls, and finished and went inside.
came back out, and now my locks dont work. Well, when the engine is on, my door lock buttons work. when the engine is off, neither the keyfob, or the actual buttons on the doors lock or unlock the doors. did i maybe blow a fuse?

Maybe you have the hood/trunk/door that you forgot to close.

sounds like you did blow a fuse. use the schematic in the owners manual and check the appropriate fuses.

alright i finally got around to testing it. the fuse labels door locks is NOT blown, so now i am clueless. key fob does nothing, and when im inside the car, the switches wont work when the cars off. When the cars on, i can unlock the doors but cant lock them. it pretty much feels like when the car is off, all power to inside stuff is off. so maybe something to do with a fuse related to ignition vs power?

Maybe pull the main clock fuse or the negative battery cable off for awhile. Let the ECU reset, reconnect the juice, then try everything again.

I recently had my alternator off, and both battery posts undone. When I reconnected everything, the second push on the keyfob lock button didn't beep like it usually does. When I checked it later (maybe after driving it) it started beeping again on the second push. Go figure.

il try that^

so my thoughts were, that since basically everything doesent get power when the cars off, maybe a fuse blew on the power. Once the car is on though, power flows through the ignition cable giving everyhitng power. In the underhood fuse box i didnt find anything like main power or ignition, the closest being accessories something. It wasent blown

fixed it! it was the clock backup light in the passenger panel. whats wierd though, is there were no fuse for day lights. so i put one in from the spare ones(later had to take out and put in the clock backup) but it wuold just fall out, like the internal crimps were loose
