Poor me, I just got confirmation the Golds are on indefinite back-order and the order had to be canceled.
Anyone else know where to get Yellow bulbs that look as good and are in stock?

I thought I could help a bit here, not that I have a TL, but I have rebased osram 4300K bulbs in a reflector housing(not as nice of a beam as in a freeform housing as the TL but close to the same temp, I'm in the middle of retrofitting 90mm hella projectors and philips 85122s for a better cutoff and much nicer color though.)
here's a spiel I posted in another place.
Ok, I've been hearing all the hype and being somewhat of a lighting fanatic I had to go out and get a set. Well I'm disappointed. They aren't "all that". I've gone through so many different light bulbs it's not even funny, I've done polarg, sylvania cool blues, nokya(actic white and arctic purple), PIAA super plasma and Something that I was told translated to super HID(I got them in hong kong no english at all on the packaging), 4300K HID, and so many other including my other cars.
I had nokya artic blue in my high beams for quite some time because they had decent light output and were almost a perfect match for my 4300K which uses rebased osram bulbs which are known for having a tad of yellow in them.I went down to my local kragen and picked up a pair of 9005st silverstars. I can honestly say these aren't that much better than cool blue lamps in terms of color, but they are pretty happy in brightness, although still no match for my 4300K hid. I was going to take the silverstars out and put the nokyas back in, but it was cold as hell and I'm lazy, so just note that nokya arctic blue are almost exactly the same color as my hid with a bit more a blue componenet, and much more dim(sad having your high beams being less potent than low beams).
Next week I should be done with my hella 90mm projector retrofit with philips bulbs which are much whiter and have a strong hue of blue in them, then I'll take some more pics.
For the sake of reference since I couldn't get the white balance and exposure perfect, my HID are almost identical to a TL HID setup, since I'm using reflectors and osram bulbs just like they do.
here's some pics, top pair are 4300k rebased osram HID with accord OEM h11 fogs which are some of the whitest regular halogens around, I remember when I got the fogs they made my low beams look so yellow it wasn't even funny, bottom pair of pics are HID with silverstars. The pictures are unedited except for size.
Pictures were taken with a nikon coolpix 4500 up against a white tarp in my garage with almost zero ambient light. I had problems getting the white balance right, but as I said my low beam color is almost identical to a TL OEM setup, as a reference.
auto saturation, auto white balance
-1.5 saturation, flourescent white balance preset, iso 800 sensativity
final thought, the silverstars are pretty bright compared to all of the blue "painted" bulbs I've tried, and much brighter than either set of PIAA I had of which were twice as expensive, but if you are looking for the HID look, then these aren't for you. THey are much more white that stock, but they aren't HID look alikes.

The desparation continues.... Thanks, illusion for all the info. I am making one last attempt at the inexpensive fix with the midnightmoose.com that someone suggested.
If this falls through I guess I have some other good options.
Thanks everyone.

Right now I got a pair of mismatched foglight bulbs because I had bought a pair of Xenon hyperwhites and one of them blew out that same night..(Cheap shiet...you get what you pay for..I guess.) and I put in a Nokya Hyperwhite bulb in its place..and the Nokya bulb looks more white than the other bulb...OH well I don't care..I'm done with that for now..I want to get the Gold bulbs now...but we'll have to wait til I get some more money...Can someone tell me what that sight was again for those Gold Bulbs? Alright then I'm out.

Did they? No. I understand that there will always be skeptics...so for those people, there ARE 55W Eaglite bulbs available for the same price...just don't expect them to be as bright.
I've moved on to GOLD right now since I keep running across multiple posts where people want to have GOLD/YELLOW fogs. I figure if I try these and report back and help people out. This should definitely open up alternatives from having to buy expensive bulbs or going all out and fabricating colored filter lenses.

having never seen the 55W (waiting for Iggy's pix) i am just assuming that they would perhaps be a better match to the HIDs cuz as per edgalang's pix, the 80W "out-whited" them. and maybe being 55W, they would last longer than the 1yr the 80W lasted for him? that's my guess.

Sorry about the delay,
I've had a pretty full plate lately, the pics will be up soon. I can tell you that the Eaglites are a little more blue than the stock HID even after everything has warmed up.

Here are a couple of shots with Eaglite 55w fogs. I think the Silverstars are a closer match, but these are a little more than half the price. I dunno, the search continues.

But look how white they look when paired with yellows.
I guess it all depends on what you compare it with.

Don't get Philips Bluevision. I've used the Sylvania Cool Blue (3500K) and they are clearly whiter than Bluevision. I E-mailed Philips asking them the kelvin temp on the Bluevision 9006 and they told me it is 3350K. I have SilverStars (4000K) now and they match the HIDs quite well once the HID warms up. What I am curious is how well the PIAA Xtreme White (4000K) compares to the Silverstars.

what's the wattage of the Silverstars?
i'm still divided on them...mixed bag of reviews i've read (and i've read a lot). most say they match up well but also maybe 1/3 of reviews saying they blew out after 9mos-1yr.
