I love My TLS- I happen to live in a pretty nice neighborhood and being the poorest on the street my neighbor bought his 20 yr. old kid a brand new M3 with the 4 exhaust tips-

We happen to pull out early in the morning around 5:45 and he said lets see what that rice burner can do- I just tried to follow him after turning left on the main street that runs a long way before traffic heats up-

Man, I went SS and he went BYE BYE!!!!!!!!!!! There was 1 mile between us and I was squinting to see him- Those Bimmers are sweet-

I love my Acura but man can that M3 haul balls-

Additionally- My Nextel Phone happens to interfere with my sound system or NAvi- Any correction to this without buying new phone-

Last but not least---- my turn signal arm and wiper arm's are the same as my Aunt's 1990 Accord-( Cheezie)

330 h.p. in a small coupe will dust a ton of cars. I love the M3 and M5. BMW builds some sweet machines.

i dont think the old ones are as well built as the new ones. They will take us but I think the TLS can hang with the old ones. The new ones are just QUICK and htye look SWEET AS HELL

No that can't be fixed. It has to do with the frequency that the phone sends out to check for a signal. You can try to keep it as far away from the radio as possible.

BTW, this is a Nextel phone issue. If you switch to Sprint or another carrier it isn't a problem.

Z06 would outrun, out handle the new M3 for less $$$$... the only thing I hate about the Z06 is the crappy interior...

Afetr owning the Z06, I would have to say that the interior was pretty bad. And yes, it would kick she $h!t out of the M3. My friend just got a brand new M3 and wouldn't bother to race me. I did however get my friend with his M5 to race me, but the POS was in the shop. I have also almost raced an M roadster ( I had to get off my exit). Oh well, can't win them all

That'd be torture...who'd want to give one of those things back and come back to reality? I got dusted by a cherry red one yesterday out here in Champaign IL. I was driving my 91 Q45 stock (go figure) I just felt like having my balls served to me. The rich kid saw me disappear in his rearview like Rosanne when the all you can eat bar closes down! Anyhow, I was waiting for an oppurtunity to share my humiliating story! Trust me guys, I know how you feel! If only we can come by 60K lying around...we'd be straight!

They were saying on the forums that it would be about 2 years after the C6 is available (If it does come out) because the new C6's are supposed to have almost 400 HP already just for the hardtops and converts

None of us TLS' owners should even bother with any high performance machine coming out of germany, especially M3 or M5..BMW M cars are the pinnacle of luxury performance..Everyone tries to out do BMW, but year after year all car manufacturers fail at that task..So who cares that the Z06 is slightly faster and handles slightly better...Who wants to have a Z06 as a daily driver, not me..The perfect mix of performance/comfort/luxury will never be matched by any other car except an M car. Oh yeah, lets not forget who makes Z06's, GM, yeah I think that says enough.

Never say never--I wouldn't put it past Honda/Acura to rise to the challenge in a few years. It would take a concerted effort (not the half-hearted attempts of Audi and Nissan, for example), but Mercedes is doing pretty darn well with their AMG division these days.

I obviously love the M cars (I drive one), but if BMW rests on their laurels then someone else WILL catch up and eventually surpass them...

The new 2004 RS6 (450 HP) will be King over the M5. the S4 (V-8, 340 HP)would compete with the M3.

No, it isnt just a Nextel issue. I have SunCom and the same interference is present...Also, the Verizon phones have the same annoying issues are there....

Everybody is saying that all these car companies are coming out with stronger cars to compete with the M series. Hello...BMW is not going to lay low and watch the competition pass them.

BTW, isn't the new M5 coming with a V10? Does anybody know any hp figure for the V10?

The Z06 is not just a little faster than the M3, and is a better track car. Its been rated one of the easiest day to day drivers when compared to others near its performance breed (Ferrari, Porsche), which its still managed to our perfrom, yet cost thousands and thousands less. I shuld know, I have a Z06 eater

Read more about the car before you knock it, yes the Bimmer interior is nicer, but if thats not woth $20-30K to everyone.

I have both a C5 and a TL-S, and the Acura does not have much of a better quality interior, just more of a matter of personal taste, as use and placement of buttons and plastics. It is not however, falling apart, air bag bulging or making noises like another car I know of .

I love them both for and the M3 for what they are.

That new 500hp V-10 M5 should be a beast. I wonder if its price will be jacked up to match the new engine. Maybe we are looking at a new 100K M5.

Remember the old BMW 8-Series that were discontinued? Well there coming out with a new 6-series to replace it based on the new 5-series platform. That V-10 your talking about will also go in the new M6, just like the Current M5 engine is also shared with the faster Z8. The new M6 coupe will be built to butt heads with the Mercedes SL55

My friend has a 2000 M roadster. They're only spitting 250 hp (the word "only" being a subjective term), but he can still smoke me quite easily in my 03 TL-S, though I should note that he's crazy with a manual. The 2002 M roadsters are producing 315 hp, only a couple of hp less than the M3 in a much smaller, lighter, and more maneuverable car. So the older BMWs are still quite nice...

Audi don't have time to celebrate.

As E60 debuts. it will have a twin turbo 3.0 with 380HP as an option.

It will be priced around $60K and according to autoweek the car will be slightly faster than current M5.


The new 2005 M5 will come to the states with V10, 500HP. Sources say that the new M5 will be faster than 911 Turbo through out the 155 mph (governor). BMW will move M5 to 911/Ferrari performance category. Of course, price will be higher than current M5.

I agree with Soundspeed- That is SICK- A V-10 500 H.P. What the hell are you gonnna do with it in traffic- Do they put resrtictor plates on those as well.

Give it wings and landing gear and that should suffice-

What about the M5 being able to stay all motor? These twin turbo 6 cylinders need forced induction to just stay up with the current all motor M5. Says a lot about M5 engine design.

There's a guy here in Tulsa with a gold 2002 M3. He ran a 13.2 at the track and he still had the paper tag. :wow: Nothing could touch him except some tricked out Civic running 12.1. Those cars are awesome.
