MAJOR problem in my TL.... need answers... please

im assuming that this is a case of a "slipping transmission". my car hasnt seemed too peppy the last couple of days, and i noticed that when i floor it, nothing happens, then about a full second later the car will downshift and accelerate. it feels like im driving around with 5 fat ass hoes in my car.
i tested it out today, i brought the car to a complete stop on a side street and floored it. NO PEELING!!!!! it was like a ****ing I4 from the start. (my TCS was on). the car still picked up a decent amount of speed. but is god awful from the start. im estimating at least 8 seconds 0-60. whereas before, the car was SO much quicker in first gear...

what cud the problem be?
i have a 00 TL w/ 23k miles.

BTW, im interning at curry acura, and sum customer hits my bumper right in front of me. and my dad is gonna bring it to a shop, so i may not have it for the park ave meet!!!! plus, my car may b in the shop from the problem listed above....
this sucks! and i have to many creative goodies to show all of you....

sorry for the long post, but please help!!!!

Sorry to hear that bro! Hopefully they will fix everything for you. You gotta come to PAA meet. It will be a blast. What kind of goodies are you going to show us?

same exact problem at the same milage range... I took it to the dealer and the reset the computer for me as well as flushing the tranny fluid four time!!! And since then.... everything went smoothly~~~ I have a feeling that it might come back again tho... but till then, I'll just take it into the dealer again!

I say you definetly change your transmission fluid first. Its very cheap. If that doesnt work then I recommend you undo your battery for a few minutes and drive your car a little harder

alrite, ill go ahead and flush the tranny fluid... i already reset the ECU a couple of weeks ago. i reset it to "ill smoke you" mode. haha. damn, i really hope i have my car on sunday.

i just graduated HS, and am paying the lease for my TL, but my dad pays for insurance and ****. So hes mad pissed that this guy hit my bumper and so he has to take care of it, and do the ***** work, such as getting an estimate, tracking down the guy, and dealing with the insurance company. So he may take the car in the weekend to the shop. I hope not tho... And it sucks bc i had meshing in the bumper and i need to go ahead and redo it.

Maybe i shud tell the guy i had a lip spoiler too. lol. JK.

I have 4 new goodies.... sum cheap mods that can be removed bc the car's leased. lets just say ill prolly be the only one at the meet with 2 or 3 of these mods.... one mod for sure.
