Maintenence Required Light blinking at 6k miles?

I just passed 6k miles last nite and after I went to fill up (91 Octane from Shell). The car's maintenence required light blinks for a few seconds when I start up the engine. What is this for? There is no scheduled maintenence at 6000 miles right? I got my oil change at around 3500 miles and the next one is going to be around 7000 or 7500 miles. Any help is appreciated.

The blinking light is just a reminder that you have a 7500 tune up coming up. When you hit 7500 the light will always be on until you do the tune up.

tune up?

this car requires a tune up at only 7500 miles?
is this a "real" tune up? or just rotating tires and **** like that?
Thanks!

Check the maintenance schedule in the back of your manual.

Tire rotation, oil change and inspections.

I did my own last weekend, oil change - and since I have had after market rims/tires put on recently didn't need to rotate. Thats it.

The yellow main't required light will come on just as a reminder to you that service is do. The light will start to blink at every 6,000 mile interval after it has been reset. The light will blink a few seconds each time you start the car untill it has been reset. If the light is not reset it will stay on constant after a certain mileage interval. To reset the light read owners manual.

Is the 7500m tune up something that the dealership will do for me even if I didn't purchase my vehicle there?

I still can't tell if there's any disadvantage to purchasing your TL-S from a dealer or from a broker, as I did. Perhaps this will shed some light!

of course all dealers will do the tuneup for you.
It is not a free service, just like an oil change. You can ask anyone to do it, even if it is not a dealer. I don't think there is any difference where you buy the car from, warranty on the car works at every dealership anyway. The only difference I know of is the extended warranty, those are more dealer specific. On my extended warranty it asks me to go back to the dealer I bought the car from to get services. Otherwise I have to call them and get permission to get work done and get reimbursed. Kind of like out of network medical treatments.

When you had the oil changed at 3500, the tech probably forgot to reset the system at that time
