M3 spoiler, price and painting

OK, called the local BMW dealer and I can get an M3 lip spoiler for $129. A good body shop in the area said it might take 3 hours to paint it WDP, which might cost $150. So, for ~$280, what do you guys think? The BMW dealer said they put an M3 spoiler on an Accord, and it looked great.
Oh, and those of you that don't think it would look good, keep your opinions to yourselves. :thefinger

Just put the M5 spoiler on mine. About the same price for the spoiler, but my local shop painted it for $60. Looks incredible. How is the M3 spoiler different from the M5?

Good question... I'm not sure how the M3 spoiler is different then the M5. I'm thinking th M5 would be a little bigger, so it would probably look better on the TL. FYI, my M5 spoiler was $115 with shipping from CA to NY. Paint was around $100 for the spoiler....

It looks like the M5 spoiler is wider than the trunk- how is it installed? When the trunk opens up, does the overlap come up with the trunk, or is the spoiler cut into three pieces and the overlap bolted down separately?

Does that question make any sense at all?

Sure, it makes sense...

I think you need to look at the pics again of the spoiler... the M5 spoiler is actually smaller then the trunk... about 3/8" on each side. That's why I mentioned that it would look better then the M3 spoiler b/c I believe that's even smaller and wouldn't look right. Check out the pics in this link... you can see how the spoiler is just a tick smaller then the trunk.....

How to they attach? I know that is probably a stupid question, but do you have to drill holes in the trunk?

Double-sides 3M tape, from the BMW dealer.

Dang, $60 would be nice. Wonder if it really is that hard to match WDP.
So, the M3 might fit the trunk, but the M5 would overlap it, requiring both ends to be cut, but fit the whole back edge. Wonder which would look better...
