You are right, it's a b/w display and the text is kinda small to read while driving, but you can take a closer look while sitting at a light. No voice prompt, cant' calculate route either.

btw, you can get the Mapsource software from ebay for very cheap so I only spent less than $150 for this fairly accurate portable GPS that tells me where I'm at.

I've tried MapSource, I think MapPoint is better overall.

Bigmonkey70 ~ "Lilliput 7" VGA LCD with USB touchscreen" I was thinking about getting this one so I was wondering if you could take more pics of this or at least tell me how it can be mounted. Don't want to buy it and have trouble mounting it. What are some of the mounting options?

Thanks!

Routis and Mapopolis both provide voice directions. Typically, I turn them off though. When you are approaching a turn, Routis has the option to change the display screen to zoom into the intersection where you are turning. As soon as you make a turn, it switches back to the normal map display (whatever zoom level you set before). When in the normal map display, Routis displays your current street & block at the bottom of the screen & your next turn at the top of the screen. If you are on a highway, it tells you which exit (ie. 155B) and what the exit sign will say when you get there. All too easy.

Routis & Mapopolis both have their advantages. Mapopolis has a free trial, so you can get an idea what it's like before you buy. Check out http://www.routis.com and http://www.mapopolis.com Routis looks exactly like the navigation software shipped in most cars.

Your wish is my command

I wish I have the big glove box like the TL to play with. The Lexus' glovebox is so small that it's barely fit the VIA M-10000 and the slim DVD drive.

Here's the gut:

How does the screen stay on there? You didn't get a case for the M10000? The C134 seems to be a nice and small case.

The screen stay on the huge L bracket that usually come with CD changer. I bend the bracket to fit the contour where the dash and the center console meet. I then use bodymold double sided tape and pop it in there. The screen attached to the bracket with industrial strength velcro.

No i didn't get the case. I used the glove compartment as the case.

Just got my LCD installed and Computer done...

Hi guys...saw your thread here so i figured i'd chime in with my install in a TL
well, the original plan was to remove a little cd holder right above the head unit and have the lcd slide out and fold up...but it didnt fit, so....i had to flush it in the dash...spent about a week creating the bezel out of wood, bondo, and the original xenarc frame, got it painted yesterday and put in...and finished up the computer yesterday, so hopefully i'll have the sound system part of this done by the end of the week and be fully up and running..
this is the first time ive ever used bondo so be gentle...also the plastic on the lcd is still there til i get it completed..
