loose exhaust

As I pulled into my driveway earlier today, my neighbor noticed that my right exhaust was loose as I went over the bump at the end of my driveway.
What should I look for, and how do I tighten it up?

All info is appreciated.

Yup as i recall when a Rub Hanger dies it make the muffler hang loose go to autozone and buy New ones. Urethane is for long lasting but it costs a bit More

Get under the car, grab the muffler and give a good tug. You should be able to see where the problem is.

Keep in mind that they are built with some give. They are supposed to move around a bit.

You can temporarily use zip tie around your existing stretched hangers.

x2, and ours seem to give more then say some other cars, so beware of that

, and there are a total of 5 hangners that would give you issue, 2 for each muffler (one at the very back of the muffler, then the other one in front of muffler), then the very last one is in front of the gas tank right next to the resonater

btw to check the 4 for the mufflers, you do not even have to jack the car up, just crawl/slide right under (even an average weight person can do it), then the fifth one just look under the driver side (i think, might be passenger side though) right in front of the rear tire towards the center of the car, and you will be able to see it easily (flashlight might help too)

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot tomorrow.
About a month ago I installed a catback system for a friend of mine on his Mini Coop, and by the mufflers were a bracket with hex screws that adjust the position....(up, down, left, right for the muffler) Do our cars have that as well?

just plain ol rubber hangers
Stop by any exhaust shop and they can throw on whatever you need

May be an issue somewhere if ones broken--like getting bumped into by another car when parked can push the exhaust forward and bend the pipe! example from bimmer that was tapped by a vw and caused about $1000 damage that wasnt seen at the time- it kept breaking hangers and replaced at different shops so no one saw a trend..until the truth was told by the owner and the problem found, bent pipe and connector at cat-

typical german over engineering :shakehead, just more to break, you think they would know bending the hangers would work too

, thats what i did to another car during rush hour traffic, and i rear ended them in my old accord (lowered btw), there exhaust left a nice round indent in my front plate (and the other car happened to be an 8th gen accord couple too), but yeah i think it was something like 2-3k in damage (the bumper did have to be replaced, but that would only be like half of that bill)
now on the other hand my car was F***ed cause it went underneth from being lowered

Haha...Its good though, because I dont know if you are familiar with the exhaust on Mini's, but on the type s its a straight pipe that splits to the sides for mufflers and then joins in the middle again and out, so its hard to get the two tips centered in the bumper cut-out.
Heres a pic of the old exhaust, but see what I mean...

rest of the car
