Question Long trips

I was wondering how bout it is for my car to take long trips. In my opinion, a long trip is one that takes over 4 hours or so. So i'm going to LA from SF today and was wondering if I take too many of these trips is it bad for my car? i know that you aren't supposed to drive distances that are too short, but is too long also bad?

thanks

honda cars are built to be long distance cars!! I used to drive a 92 Honda Accord and I used to drive that car from seattle to SF for at least 4 times and one time i drove my car to LA and back to Seattle...

I am actually driving my TL to SF this summer and then to LA so I am sure I will be putting a lot of miles on my TL this summer..

Its only bad if you have a lease!

Let me tell you, this car is made for taking those kinds of trips. I have taken it to LA once and plan on another one in a couple months, I've gone to Reno once as well. I drive to Sacramento at least once or twice a month which is usually a 250 mile round trip 2hrs each way.

If you don't take regular maintenece on it (oil, tires, etc...) then it is bad.

And it also depends on your driving style, do you use the Cruise control on those long trips? How fast do you go? How often do you stop?

Oh yeah, wash it often too, it helps keep it more aerodynamic. j/k

At the drive-thru, tell them "I want my order to-go please".

i would assume that long trips are good for the car since it helps "clean out" the engine.

I agree. Our TL was made for long trips. Last year I took my TL on a roundtrip from NJ-FL-NJ for a total of close to 3000 miles. The driving experience was so relaxing. Just make sure all necessary fluids are filled and everything checked out before you leave. Have a safe and relaxing trip.
