Long Timer Lurker, New TL-S Owner & Buying Exper
Thanks all!
I've been reading posts on here for a long time, I had been on the fence on purchasing the Acura. I was looking at just about everything, but in the end the Acura just can't be beat. I picked up my New Silver 2002 TL-S tonite, from Vandergriff Acura in Arlington, Texas, I got the trunk tray, floor mats, wheel locks, 2nd cigarette lighter? and splash guards and tint for 28,800! I think the out the door price was around 31,000. If anyone wants to know the exact break down e-mail me. It was a real battle between all the dealers to find a good 2002 at a great price. Goodsen was really high pressure. David McDavid hardly had anything to choose from.. The 2002s are disappearing fast! Also I used a check from peoplefirst.com to buy the car. Goodsen or Vandergriff wouldn't accept the check. Got financed for 5.44% The dealer could come no where near it but they wouldn't accept it. I got Peoplefirst to call Vandergriff and change their minds. So I got the car at a great interest rate. P.S. If you use peoplefirst.. You probably need to own a home from what I understand. And to get the loan even lower they will match another company. SO go check out E-Loan, who has lower rates. Peoplefirst will beat there rate, and is a better company In my Opinion. So if you are looking for a car, you might try to get a deal like mine, my salesman was Bill Cook, tell him I sent ya.. He will know then he's not going to make much money off of ya! Look forward to some modding and meeting you guys around Dallas :D Erik Ackerlund 2002 TL-S Silver : 64 miles on the odometer! |

Got some conservative mods in mind..
* Considering debadging.. I'd rather remove it carefully than have some punk scrape it off with a screwdriver. * MMII & RES if they ever are available. * Underbody Tray, if feasible * Change rims out for Konig Cobras which I already have ready to install * Tinted windows * Rearview mirror with Compass * Powered Rear Window Shade * MP3 Server tied into audio system * Trip Computer, automatically give performance data, digital read out of Speed, RPM, intake temperature, OBD status, etc, etc, all of this picked up by OBD2. Will send display out to modified visor, with LCD display * LCD display and touchpad, on visor, will select sources between rear camera, Car Data, Navigation GPS, Internet, DVD and MP3 screen saver. This will all run from a modified laptop hidden in trunk, with a 802.11b wireless setup for wardriving. * Wireless mini keyboard * Hidden Kill switch * VIN Number engraved on windows and headlamps * Door Speaker Upgrades, something primo * Heated Steering wheel * Stoneguard or something similar, plan on doing the install myself, and making my own templates, will get the mirrors headlights, and the front trim * Blackwood trim kit * Drop in Filter * Super Ultra Brite LEDs replacement to rear tail lamp assemblies. * Replace the fogs with something super powerful, and non legal. Like Hella 5000's with a pencil beam pattern. Had them on my Rover, and could illuminate rural roads up to several miles. *amazing* You have to beef up the wiring and fuses though. * Rubberized floor tray mats, for keeping it cherry. * Integrated Radar Detector * Outside Ground Illumination from mirrors * 2nd Mode Horn, compressed air semi-horn okay this is just dream list for now.. But ready to get started. |
conservative mods my ass hehehe...just wondering if any of those mod like the obd2 engine read out is possible?

Go Team Silver

I think the OBD2 readouts will work. Unless the ACura
is using OBD3.. I already have the Kit and setup, just haven't hooked it to the connector to see if it works. You can get the OBD2 reader here.. http://www.obd-2.com/ Hmmm, I called them conservative mods, because you won't notice that the car appears any different than a stock. cept for the visor :D |
