Are loaner cars part of Acura's TLC?
Are loaner cars part of Acura's TLC (or whatever it's called)? Is the dealership required to give you a loaner whenever the car is serviced, just when it stays overnight, or not at all?

TLC will give you a loaner car if your car is out of service due to a warranty-covered defect.

Each local dealer works out their own loaner program, if they have one, independant of Acura.

My Dealer advised me that I would get a loaner anytime I brought my car in for service, as long as the total service time was 2hrs or more. IM not for sure if the TLC program will guarantee a loaner or not, I think its really decided upon what dealer you got your car from.

The TLC doesn not guarantee a loaner, it's up to the dealer. My dealer gives me a loaner sometimes, but not all of the time. Depends on the service and how long in advance I call....

My understanding from the dealer is that Acura actually allocates X number of vehicles to a dealership for the TLC program. To that end, they are given vehicles for services.
The bad part is, some dealerships corner you into a loaner, but charge you like $7 for "Fuel"...yeah right. That's just a rental fee to me. My other dealership in the valley (Bell) does not charge for fuel or anything. The only down side to service is that you don't get a loaner for oil changes. Infiniti offers a loaner for anything, but also charges a "Fuel" charge of like $7.
I think it all boils down to what the dealership wants to do. they get the cars. It's whether or not they are willing to give them out for free.

It gives you a loaner car alright. But you need to paid the insurance which is like $8/day. The license fee for the car you rent which is $.88/day. etc, etc.
So, the loaner car program for Acura is not good at all.
Infiniti is better. You get an Infiniti, not need to pay any gas, insurance, etc.

I did not/do not get charged any fees for using an Acura Loaner at my dealership.. When I had my windows tinted on my TLS a couple of weeks ago, I wasn’t charged a dime.. I even burned about a ¼ tank of gas in that loaner (a very nice CL)! May be it helps to know the right people..

Not a Blowhole
My dealer loves me! They give me anything I want! Loaners, women, gambling junkets..you name it, it is mine.
Actually, they do give me a loaner if I ask for it, but noit everyone gets it - I have bought several cars there, including the biggie - 1995 NSX-Targa that I got for $25k off sticker!

My dealer provides a loaner, and if they are out of loaners, they will rent you a car. This is for warranty work, but I don't know if it applies to other work

Charging for fuel is reasonable considering you would have to pay for your own gas when you drive your own car.
Otherwise, ppl will take advantage of them. Ppl will just drop off your car in the morning for svc, take the loaner car for a roadtrip and jack up the miles and use the free gas, and drop the loaner off when you're done w/o zero gas in the fuel tank. Now does that make sense?? It doesn't make any business sense on their part at least.
