A Little Preview....
Just washed the car for the first time after clearing the headlights. My headlights sat drying with the Hondabond (decided against the cheaper silicone...well that and Hondabond is free for me) for a minimum of 17 hours with the clamps on, and then another 6 days with the clamps off in a dry indoor climate. I have had the headlights on and off and I drove around and still no fogging *knock on wood.* I got a few other changes coming up too within the next two months. I'll post a variety more once everything is done.

How many tubes did you use per housing? Seems like you did it right!! Great job.
I have a set cleared and ready to glue, but was waiting for more info on resealing.
Could you elaberate a bit on what you did after the clean up part.

Thanks a lot guys. I really appreciate the comments.
I used a little less than a whole tube per housing. Made sure to clean out a majority of the old hondabond and went ahead and filled the gap on the housing with all the hondabond necessary, no gaps left at all. Then I took the other half of the housing and heated whatever factory glue I couldn't remove with the heat gun so that it could bond with the new glue. Pressed them together by hand for a few minutes and then clamped them as I said. After they were dryed I took an xacto knife and cut off the excess. It's cold and snowy here in Wisconsin so I had the factory bulbs all in place and everything prior to reinstalling them as to avoid moisture in the air. This would make sense also if you for whatever reason reinstall on a rainy day. Threw them on the car and waited another week before washing. I really don't want to take them apart again so I overdid my time periods but better safe than sorry.
No blacking, just the shadows of my garage, sorry for that confusion. I thought about the blacking but I really like the pure clear with the aegean blue.
Thanks again guys!
Mike

New ride...Acura MDX 2013
Acuracy02 - would I have to go to the dealer to get hondabond? and is this the actual name of the product? I did my headlights but have fogging issues and want to completely redo them with the proper sealant
Thanks, Jeff

Mezzer - Hondabond should be available at any Honda/Acura dealer. I picked some up from my local Honda dealer since I used to work there in high school but I'm sure that Acura would have it for you as well. I was really close to using the regular clear RV sealant and right before I ripped apart the housing I found a ton of info advising against it since it tends to be hit or miss. Many who have used hondabond have a much lower leakage rate.
