License Plate
This is probably a really dumb question but does anyone know how to relocate a license plate without drilling or using zipties..I know i could use tape but I kinda want it to look flush without spending 20 dollars for something so simple.

for the 3G TL there is a plate mount that goes in the tow hook location....i dont know if the 2G's have that tow hook location in the bumper....lemme know if they do, i will try to find the link to the tow hook license plate re-locator

no we dont have the gen3 tow hook
depending on where you want to mount- gorrilla glue holds like steel.
attach a `plumbers tape` type metal strap or similar with a 90 bend to lower grill
then the plate screws to that
ck out the hardware store -construction materials area for Strong Tie

Why not drill? If you drill on the underside no one will see it. Dont go cheap with glue or tape.

^ and why to drill and screw and not glue

Gorilla tape even worked for patching my boat cover. Stronger than the original cover- by the end of last summer it seemed that nearly the whole thing had been replaced by tape.

@Flipster I tried that but VA is an awful state to modify cars and tint pulled over your wheels stick out too much pulled over, I drove without a front plate for 2 hours and got pulled over, what a bunch of cunts.

As a student, I get a couple choices where to register. This is literally 50% of the reason I chose Arizona. That and at the time I was a student in Ohio and their plates are really ugly. Somebody has proposed a law in Ohio now to get rid of the front plate and there is actually a pretty high number of states that don't have them. There is really no reason for them except for photo-enforcement. They screw up the front of the car, hurt aerodynamics, and cost money.

mine is kept in the seat pocket behind driver
in its original dmv wrapper
In case I get asked about...- its not stolen !- I know where it is
Thats a big concern to LE officers in Ca, stolen front plate gets used as temp rear plate during commission of a crime- probably in another stolen car!!
Not the kind of company you want knocking on your door at 4am

i live in NH but my car is registerd in AZ... they give u 2 plates but u only need to use 1.. plus there tint laws are better than NH (NH doesnt allow tint on front windows and only 35% on backs...really dumb looking )

@xtremex, Yeah i dont feel like busting out my Dad's shitty drill ill prolly do just that. Also I am stoked to see what you do with the GS.

@xtremex626, you're absolutely correct on the L Brackets.
I just relocated my front plate because the previous owner drilled the front bumper... ='[
Yeah... sucks. It's in the center of the bumper where the opening is. Sits hella flush too.
All you need is 2x L Brackets, 2x M6-1.00x16(or 20), and 2x 1/4'' screws w/ nuts.
Once you get everything all you gotta do is bend the L Brackets a little bit and drill the holes so that your screws will fit through them.
I installed my plate directly from the holes in the bumper that come from the factory.
I'll do a write-up and show pics tomorrow once I find the energy to do so, lol.
Since I've seen like a million questions about this topic haha.

Unless the OP wanted to move the plate to where it is now, otherwise, you already have the two screw holes there close to the middle from underneath, where it holds the orignal plastic bracket.

i say go for my friends relocator, imma get one next week, shits hella sturdy, i did the L brackets today, but im scared that something or someone might want to rip that shit off. the great thing about my friends relocator is that it occupies all 4 screw holes, so you know it wont bend nasty
