Exclamation level10 Transimission upgrade=no need to spend $2k!

Hey guys..

I contact Level 10 about possible upgrade of our weak transmission for supercharger...headers, intake, exhaust, res...etc..

it's not what other ppl said earlier that we need to spend over $2,000 for the ENTIRE TRANSMISSION...all we need to do is...
here is the info I got..

Thanks for the inquiry! This is what you need.PTS TORQUE CONVERTOR SERVICE JA
313-1000 498.00 IF car hits rev limiter you will need PTS KIT JA 113-1000
302.31

that comes to only $498 + $302 = about $800

Hey, that is great to hear. Thanks for the update. That is much better than the $2000 + that people are saying. Like to hear when you can get reasonable prices for better quality and performance.

You planning to do this all yourself? Last time I checked, rebuilding a tranny was not a weekend mechanic type of job. So add a few bills to have it taken down, pulled apart and then put back together once the new TC comes. I'd figure at least $400 to do that.

And what do you do while Level Ten has your torque converter?
Oh yeah my friend, no car while they're building your new TC.

So now we're at $1200. Oh and BTW, this is just for a TC. If you're planning to add the supercharger, I'd plan on a few more mods to the tranny.

I'd say you are still looking at $2000. Remember, you have labor and tax to pay. And shipping a transmission to NJ costs at least $200 last time I heard. Shipping + parts are already over $1000. A tranmission shop will charge you an arm and a leg for installation.

I'd also look into the threads and lawsuits about how Level 10 has cheated many people.

HAHAHA. OMG!!!
yeah, only about 400 for the torque converter, but you need to pay someone to do it!!! 400 is just the part.

I have a friend with a Supra here in town that recently broke his "4th" Level 10 transmission........

Not a good record in my book.
If the only problem was the torque converter Acura wouldn't be replacing so many transmissions......they'd just replace the converter. I don't think that is the problem in our case.....

Totally agree. Even doug had to send back a level ten tranny that was put on a TL.

Shame on you! Duplicate post in the TLS forum:

http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...threadid=28603

But what I want to say here is the same as there...level10 has numerous legal suits against them from numerous people...and for good reason. Their stuff is not up-to-snuff...horrible stories about 4th and 5th transmissions breaking...etc etc etc. level10 is going to be very bankrupt soon. Also, the fact that they told you you only need to upgrade your torque converter is evidence they have no idea what they're talking about. If our trannies had a weak torque converter that'd be one thing...however I have heard it's the first gear's bearings that are shredding all of the trannies, in which case nothing less than re-gearing would suffice...not some measly torque converter. Sounds like they're trying to just get you to buy something...

Comptech doesn't do tranny upgrades I don't believe However there are a LOT of other people that do...Art Carr for instance:
