Let a Diamante pass me

I was driving home last night when these headligts caught up with me. They looked like BMW. And they were closing in on my 6 very aggressively. I was aloready doing 80mph.

So I switched to the middle lane. When that aggressive car came side by side with me, it turned out to be a Mitsu Diamante.

I sped up in the middle lane and totally blew his door off. I went to 100mph and then dropped back to 80.

The Diamante eventually caught up and tried to pass me on the right and was taught another lesson. However he did not give up. He kept on pushing and the traffic was not suitable for racing.

So I stayed at 80mph and let him go ahead. Which he did like a maniac.

Yeah but that logo in the middle is still 3 red diamonds and not a blue and white propellor.

well, I was surprised that he was able to keep up, albeit slightly behind me.

So which is it...

"totally blew his door off" or "he was able to keep up".

After I slowed down a bit, he caught up and stuck around.

Here is another question: am I a poor driver or is the other guy nuts? - very often I don't want to race anymore because I feel danger, while the other guy in a less potent car flies away and does not seem to have problems controlling his car (I anticipate him spilling all over the road any time, yet he weaves in and out of traffic like nothing)

Don't worry, the other guy is focking nuts! Remember, always drive defensively cause of those nut cases out there behind the wheel.

Have you ever wonder how all these police chases happens but usually nothing happens to the focking criminal. It's always the pedestrians or innocent people behind the wheel that get hurt or killed. Must be all that adrenaline pumping inside.

Some guy in a newer diamante was egging me to race him on the parkway last month. I laid off for a while, but I gave in and smoked him really bad. I even slowed down, let him catch up, and then smoked him when he caught up. He was a pretty sore loser too....he ended up giving me the finger when he was the one trying to get me to race him the whole time!!!

Hey Hey Hey, even though i am saving up for a Type S I am a Diamante owner well driver because i do want to rid of it asap. If you have intake and exaust they arent that slow once you get moving. mind you the type s is 260hp and the D is a 3.5 210hp and yeah it is hella heavy. Over in austrila and japan where they are more appreciated they come in a vr4 older version and the newer vrx and soon to come awd version. just had to speak up for my car while i still have it but as soon as its gone i will clown them too!!!!

basically TL-S is great to blow someone's doors off at 80mph. Then when you come to your senses and slow down a bit, the opponent (usually a nut case) catches up and also catches you in a bad gear, even a Diamante can build up steam to make 100mph. That's when it is not fun.

Don't diss the Diamante. I had one as a rental once, and I blew the doors of this Grand AM SE until my transmission started slipping.

BMW 325 & 528 wouldn't let me "play"

This reminds me of an incident... I was coming home from my parents' house (about an hour away), I was going the typical 75mph speed... when I noticed two pairs of headlights approaching behind me, rather fast... so, they past me... it was a 325 and 528 racing each other... so, I decided I wanted to be a part of that... I caught up with them... and past them... they tried keeping up with me but couldn't... (the traffic was moderate, just so you know). Anyway, I'd slowed down and they would "zipped" by me... okay... I'd catch up with them again... and as soon as I did that they'd stop racing... as if they didn't want me to "play." Then after awhile, they'd start up again... I think I caught up with them a 3rd time... when they just decided, it wasn't any fun for them anymore... and "bugged off" Oh well...

The exact something happened to me once where I was in their "shoes"... I was just messin' around with some other car... (I can't remember what it was, but it was in "our" league (a Maxima, maybe?), anyway, a M.B. CLK AMG caught up with us, and wanted to play... and I just wouldn't even bother... What goes around comes around, I guess.

Did you know that rat racing in Florida will get you arrested and your car impounded... street racing is now an arrestable offense in the Sunshine State... also, on a congested highway, it ain't too smart....

I find that the headers have made this biggest difference in the later stages of second gear, third and into fourth in the amount of hussle when at speed. Certainly from a stop there is still a difference, but the time from 40 to 80 or 60 to 100 or so has been greatly reduced...I used to agree with other cars "being at speed" and all that being with us but now, not so. Except that AMG that blew my doors off...Oh well...one day...
