So you put white leds in the defroster and the odometer? it seems like it is pretty blue.
So... for the whole setup so far, you're getting 5 blue leds for the climate, 3 white for odometer?, and 1 white led for the clock. (I'd rather not put leds into the turns and I have gauges so I won't need leds for the gauges). Is that correct?
And these bulbs are all 74's, the same ones used in the shiftgate? Best deal is at v-leds, here http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=69?
Lastly, what is the opinion of these replacement LEDS? Is there a big problem with the hotspots?
If there are no size replacements for the other buttons, I think I'd have to get them from LEDautomotive and get them soldered from the guy there... My sunroof bulbs went out, and I need to replace them. Would it look pretty bad if I had a mix of the replacement wedge leds and the LEDautomotive leds? For the cost, is it better to buy them at ledautomotive?

Ding ding ding! Good news!!
I've found a way to fit the wedge LED bulbs into the AC temp/mode display without soldering but do need some shaving of the sockets.
However, the downside: the display is SUPER bright and a no-no for night time. Solution I could think of at the moment - some sort of light-deterring film (aka tint?) to lay over the clear plastic cover. Once I've found the right material I'll let you guys know & post some pics

oH nice! Can you show me how you did it (shaving bulbs)? And did you also find out the 2 bulbs that go on the top of the climate controls and fan speed?
As for the fricken bright display, i heard you can use a permanent marker to diffuse some of the light. try to see if that works.

Prick of the month
Got a direct link for this? There are many wedge bulbs on their site. Makes no difference to me since I don't use the bulb holders any more, but I'm sure others would appreciate it.

Hey guys, I know this it an old thread.
I just got the silver reverse glow gauges for my wife car.
And now they don't match with the rest of the dash.
I'm thinking do the LED on the dash.
What do you guys think about this guy.

Should I get the hyper white or the blue LEDs?

Hey, so I did the climate control and dash all great, still working on the fogs & dimmer switch. After I unplugged the gauges to do the leds in them, when i plugged it back in the turn signals do not light up, on the inside or outside. The high beams only stay on when I hold down the bar. The fuses are fine, does anyone know what the reason could be for this?

the site seems to have changed the products around. will these bulbs fit from autoillumination? or does anyone know where i can get the ones that will fit?

Upgraded dash LED's
Just changed out all my dash lights to blue solder less LED's, purchased from LEDautomovite.com. I love it now, looks so much better than before. The climate control is super bright...so I'm not too sure if it will become a bit of an eye sore during night driving. The whole thing took me about 2.5 hours. Just had to test everything and make sure the bulbs lit up...some of them just needed to be flipped around, not too difficult, but still time consuming.
The only problem that I have is that my clock display is quite dim. I can still see some blue light emanating from it, but everything else is 10 times brighter than it and I can't figure out what the problem is! Anyone have any suggestions?

So I answered my own question....saw Subtledreamer's clock fix with the foil, worked like a charm.
The turn signal bulbs I used were #74SP from LEDautomotive.com, pretty much plug and play like the odometer. All three of mine were a little snug to get in, maybe yours was changed in the past and they could have loosed the hole a little. I'm sure once it's in there it should be good, you could always put some electrical tape over it just in case it decides to shift.
I didn't have a problem with any of them being loose...but some of them were super tight to get in. Which cause some problems if the polarity wasn't correct and I had to preform surgery to wedge it out and turn it.

great write up i just completed mine. all white bulbs and filter removed from the clock. the small wedge bulbs the OP couldnt find numbers for are 3mm neo wedge, you need 4 for the climate control or 6 if you want to do the cruise button. i ordered all my bulbs from superbrightleds.com. i didnt order the 3mm neo wedge in my first purchase so ill order those next week. oh and fix the leds in the auto/off buttons lol i just realize they aren't workin. now for the crap pix

hey fellas, a lot has changed in the 6 years since this thread has started. Can someone update the thread with the cheapest bulb deal to replace the climate control and instrument cluster gauge lights?
Theres like a million #74 bulbs at each of these sites now.
Thanks.

9 74 type Blubs for the Cluster and Odometer
As for the ac display and the bottone T3 Bulbs i did my whole dash for less that $35 beasts paying close to 100 for the kit
Dont buy them from those sites there over prices and are butt raping with shipping. all type 74/t5 bulbs are the same just some copanies bulb looks differnt. No one has updated this because the information is there. Just look them up in ebay and save yourself some money

Bulbs for MDX?
Hi,
I am trying to figure out which bulbs to order for MDX cluster LED upgrade.
I need 5 of below:
35505-SJ4-003 (14V 3W) - for techo, speedo etc.
length = 19mm, large diameter head.
I need 3 of below:
78181-S0K-A21 (9.5V 1.14W) - for odometer display.
length = 16mm, thin head.
I do have twist/out plastic base for each so I could just insert new ones in the old base.
I noticed that for odo display TL users are using same bulbs as the rest of the cluster... Mine is definately shorter...
What will be equivelent LED bulbs and where do I get from?
Thanks,
Robert
