Laguna green w/ Fern > curious
The dealers ad for my 2001 TL stated 'lt. grey on med. grey' which sounded interesting to me. I usually don’t like anything outside of a white, silver, grey, black, blue color combination. I drove 50 miles to see it, liked the color and loved it's performance and could not believe it’s condition so I bought it.
When I finally got it home and parked it next to my '03 Odyssey, I realized they had the same interior color which is called 'Fern' in the.
The Odyssey is monochromatic (sans certain black accessory pieces) and has always bothered me a bit. Nice color, but way too much of it in a huge cockpit with nothing to break it up and provide contrast without feeling like a sea of plastic. I've learned to dislike 'Fern' very much after all these years.
It’s interesting because every time I get into the Odyssey, I immediately sense the fuggly fern feeling (I even hate the name!) but when I sit in the TL, I’m just enamored with how soothing the color is, yet it feels so familiar to a modern grey.
I guess it’s because The TL’s version of a fern interior includes 3 different shades of fern and the wood grain breaks it up even further. I especially like how the doors have 3 shades rather than 1 solid color.
I’m curious…,
#1 I’ve never noticed another TL with this color, nor have I seen a picture or even a reference here on the forum. Was it a rare or less popular color?
#2 I’d love to get a matching wood wheel for it. Were they even made?
#3 Have you guys seen a fern and what do you think of it. You won’t hurt my feelings. I fully plan on this being my commuter car and buying a newer, silver or navy TL within the next year or so.

I have Laguna Green/fern, I bought it because i liked because i never saw that color running around. I think they were a slower seller? Though its one of the most common colors i see on the Odyssey. Yes there were wood wheels for it.

I have the Burl wood shift knob on mine. You can also get the wood trim for the instrument panel too from Acura; I think it is adhesive.
