Question Kind of chugging along???

Hope one of you has some idea what this may be.....

Driving an '02 TL-P w/o Navi, 64K miles. Since I bought it 2 months ago, it felt during moderate acceleration (to about 2700rpm) that the engine seemed to chug or lurch a couple of times while reving up. It was not as noticeable when stepping harder on the gas. I was really hesident to test the cars performance limits and tried reeeeally hard to limit my spirited driving until I knew what what was wrong.

Threw in a bottle of stp fule system cleaner but no difference so I kept going.
Changed the stock (and thoroughly cloggged with bugs and debris) air filter a few weeks ago wiith the K&N drop in filter and wow!! The car was like a bullet....responsive, reveving up smooth and quick, and was suddenly really fun to drive.....

...But now it is starting to chug again....right after the shift, it kind of bounces or hesitates 3 times before setteling in to the rev range over 3000rpm

Havn't checked the tranny history but it's shifting good for now....sometimes a bit hard....some recient delay before engaging from park.

Any ideas????
BTW, love the web site!! Go tl.
