Just Spotted - TL-P w/OnStar

Has anyone else seen a late model TL-P with Onstar. I spotted my first one today.

okay, No-DUH!

This is the first time it's been issued a "non" Type-S TL.

I have one! Picked up my '03 TLP w/ Navi, blk/blk, spoiler, wood steering wheel and wood shift knob three weeks ago!

I actually think the OnStar system is pretty cool to have, so all of you quit hating! I'm going to enjoy my free year of service.

I don't mean to have an attitude. I have found so many haters on this web site, that I feel I need to give a little back some times.

I really, really love this site and the Forums. But I can't help but notice that some people either, don't read, or understand what is being conveyed, and then reply with some cornball answer.

I knew TL's came with OnStar, but the dealer stated (when I bought my TL) that "only" 03 Type-S came with OnStar. So can you imagine my surprise when I spotted a non-Type S with Onstar, in fact the title of this Thread says "TL-P w /OnStar, with emphasis on the "P"... So I was suprised to see your reply, which I admit, I may of taken the wrong way.

The  made me do it.

Congrats on the new ride. Did you pay extra for all the stuff? I wouldn't mind having OnStar for the wife, and I like the wood steering wheel too.

You're right about the haters.

How did you know that it had Onstar? Did it have an antenna on top near the back windshield? I saw one the other day. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be an XM radio antenna.

We'll, I was at my local Acura dealership getting an Oil filter. As I walked along the row of new TL's, I noticed a P model had that antenna on it, low and behold as I opened the door and took a seat, the damm car had OnStar alert buttons on the mirror.

My only beef with onstar is that you'd have to pay either monthly or yearly once the first year is up. My parents have it on their MB but have yet to use it once. Now the year is up and MB is basically trying to make them renew something they've never used before. If it was free to have (for those "just in case" times) then ok...but you have to pay for each call you make and in addition pay to have the privilege of having it....which makes it a double whammy in my book.
