Wink Just some general questions....

I just inherited my parents 2001 3.2 TL. I was just wondering about some things:

Tint-my mom wants to get the car tinted to preserve the black interior. I was going to go to Ziebart and get it done but I'm not sure what tint levels I should get done. Any suggestions?

Cd Changer-When we got the car my mom opted not to get the trunk cd changer. I was just wondering if it could still be installed and if so will it work with the factory head

Rims-I am thinking about changing the normal 16 inch rims to 17 inch moda r6 rims with contiextreme 215/50r/17 tires. I was wondering if this would require a resetting of the TL's computer.

Performance upgrades-I was just wondering what you guys did to add some kick to your rides.

Tint -- 30-35% is good. You have black interior, and it'll appear darker than with other colors.

CD Changer -- as far as I know, the wires are already there from the factory. You just have to pick up a CD changer (aftermarket or OEM) and hook it up. You might want to talk to an audio shop first, though.

Rims -- If you go to 17"s, then you will have to get the speedometer recalibrated.

Upgrades -- Do you want handling or straight line performance? Once you get the 17"s, drop the car (H&R Sport for 170 bucks, or go with full coilover for 800-1,000 bucks), get sway bars (Comptech is 303.80 shipped, Eibach is about 340 shipped with tirerack.com), then get intake, headers, etc.

By the way, go with dedicated summer performance tires on the 17"s and use the stock 16"s during the winter. ContiExtremeContacts are more of slush/snow/rain tires, not for max performance.
