Hey guys, just passed the break in period for the S.
Man, does this engine sound good!

Anyways, should i reset the computer now that the engines broke in. I mean, the computer has been used to "lazy" driving for the last 1000 miles. Do you think its worth resetting the computer to adjust to the new way its gonna be drivin?

It's not necessary to reset the ECU. The car will automatically continue to adjust to your driving habits.

I don't know how long it takes but it's probably not worth the effort to disconnect the battery, reprogram the radio, etc. I didn't do it and don't know of anyone who has for this reason.

The car only needs a 600 mile break in, and you should be flexing the car's muscles to some degree already. The most important thing is that you not drive the car at one, steady speed throughout the break in. So, if you've been babying the engine too much and not revving it at all, you may not be doing yourself any favors.

Think about the term "break-in". By definition you should be flexing its muscles a little bit. And, at 600 miles start burining a little carbon (or whatever they call it).

You are wasting the horses on the farm! I drove down to the Keys and back over the weekend to reach my 600 miles. It is now ready and I'm having a blast. Enjoy, push the pedal down!

Absolute waste of time - but if you have ypur heart set on it, disconnect the ECU at the fuse box. Then wou won't have to reset everything else.

I was told by the dealer that ecu runs in a special breakin mode for the duration of the breakin period, I'm a newbie so I dont know if he was feeding me a line or something, but it might be pointless to restart the ecu if its probably going to readjust in the near future, but like I said, it could be a load of bs
