I think our stock radiator cap is already set to the same pressure specks as the Mugen one, so this mod is as good performance wise as the Mugen oil cap, which I might add I am getting just because it looks so sweet.

I was checking online about that one just a few days ago, and I read that on some Honda models especially ones with higher output engines already came equipped with higer rated caps. You sure we are still at 1.1? If we are then going to the higher pressure cap will increase cooling efficiency. How measurable or significant that difference is is debatable.

Your thermostat will keep you water temp at a constant reading. There is a product called Redline Water Wetter that helps the water cool down faster when it is in the radiator. Cooling through a separate radiator and fan is useless, because the thermostat will simply close until the coolant is warm again.
Changing to a lower temp thermostat or removing it altogether may not enable the engine to warm properly and may run worse than the stock setting.

I think it's a more cosmetic mod than an actual engine improvement mod. Granted, higer pressure rating should help the coolants cool off faster, but I highly doubt it'll make any difference in your car's performance

Yeah I think its just a cosmetic look more. It did lower the temp just a tad bit. I had the Mugen radiator cap for a long time now. I swapped it after I had my TL-S for only a week (1yr ago). I would also do the Mugen oil cap but decided not to cause the mugen oil cap hella freaken hot if you try to do an oil change!:wow:

Actually, if you had bubbles in your system, inhibiting flow, this would put LESS drag on the water pump, increasing power- at least until the engine overheated.
So, the idea is incorrect. However, as the engine heats up, the ECU does pull back the timing and fuel enrichment slightly, which will tend to reduce power. BUT, this assumes the engine goes above the normal operating range.
I've found that Honda cooling systems, in general, are VERY well designed compared to other manufacturers (specifically the big three- GM, Ford, Chrysler), and, as such, don't really need any improvements. On your TL-S, have you ever seen the temperature gauge move above it's normal position, under any driving circumstances? I haven't. This is the hallmark of most Honda engines- and one of the reasons that wear and emissions tend to be lower from Honda engines than others.
So, just enjoy it for what it is- a pretty cap.
