Just got a Satin Silva :D
Hi everyone, finally got the Satin Silver TLS I've been lookin for. Just wanted to drop a line to say hi to everyone
I'm looking for a good tinting place around my area (Garden Grove); if anyone knows a good one with a good repuation, that would be greatly appreciated.
Also would appreciate it if the experienced TL owners here could spot me some cleaning tips for my new baby

Welcome, new here also. Found this site for car care tips
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/polish.html
A lot of people like Zaino from http://www.zainobros.com/ web site. You can only order their product through mail order but it's well worth it.

This place called Rainbow Sound in fountain valley on Bolsa does a pretty good job. You can get a lifetime warranty on their premium tint for $100. They don't have titanium tint though if that's what you're looking for.

Tinting Options?
I'm actually kinda confused about tinting options. What is the difference between the titanium and premium tinting? I heard from a user here that the titanium tinting is illegal here in southern California. What are the legal tinting limits here anyways? I don't wantta give cops an extra excuse for pulling me over
Has anyone gone to USA Tinting near Bolsa and Magnolia ( near the asian mall)? A friend of mine says it's good but I'd like a second opinion if possible.
Appreciate the help guys !

Rainbow Sound actually does tinting? haha..i never knew that.
Anyway...Premium is just black...Titanium is black..but it has a bit of mirror to it...i always thought it was chrome..until I actually saw it....they also have chrome..and Quantum..which is another metallic reflective tint...comes in different colors..but normally.it's a greenish mirror....looks tight IMO.

from what i know...
- there are 2 types of film...dyed and metallic composition. the metallics are then broken down into titanium and platinum, though there are many other names in use. titanium has a glossy look to it on the outside, while the platinums are more mirror like. dyed tint can fade after so many years, but it provides the most shading when compared to the identical shade of titanium and platinum. however, metallic composition tint will not fade since it's made of metallic particles (and hence the glossy/mirror look).
- other than basic black, you can get bronze, mirrored blues and greens, clear or colored tints.
- in california, the front side windows can be tinted no darker than light shading or 75% light transmittance. the rear side windows and the rear windshield can be tinted any shade you want. the front windshield cannot be tinted at all, but you can have a visor strip at the top no lower than the as1 marking.
- there is also a law against reflective tint...cali says you cannot increase the reflectance but you should be ok with titanium and platinum. there are some tints that can be mistaken for a mirror!
- most places offer lifetime guarantees against fading and bubbling, but you might have to repay on labor (so ask!).
- the matrix at the top of the rear windshield is not kind to the tint, not allowing it to stick completely like the rest of the window. some tricks are an acid wash, using glue or sanding the surface. however, nothing has worked 100% yet!

since i use to live in Garden Grove...let me warn you . dont take your car to any car washes...period!!! especially those in GG. they suck. id recommend you wash your car yourself. just park it in the drive way and wash it. look into zaino products. i repeat.. dont take it to any carwashes. especially that one on trask and euclid.
