Just got my TL rear-ended but...

Hi Everyone,

I was driving this evening up north to meet my parents for dinner when I was stuck in traffic waiting for a light to change at an upcoming intersection. While flipping through some songs on the radio, I was surprised with a car hitting me from behind.

Put the car in park, turn on the flashers and step out to see some woman driving an Expedition right behind me. At first, I thought that the bumper was cracked, but it turned out to be some salt from her front license plate. We went to a parking lot to check the car out, but everything seems to look fine. No cracks, scratches or permanant marks on the bumper, trunklines all line up fine, all the other panels come together perfectly.

We exchanged information and I'm going to take it to a body shop to check out tomorrow. The question I have though is what to ask for the guys to look for. Are these cars meant to sustain low-impact nudges like this? I guess the speed was similar to someone who screwed up a parallel parking job. Or is there damage inside the bumper that I simple can't see?

Thanks for any advice.

just tell them what happened. if you dont see any damage, there may not be. the thing to look for is creases or slight waves in the rear 1/4 panels indicating structural damage.look to make sure the rear bumper is fastend correctly.
most body shops will know what to look for though

i would just ask her 200 bucks and if the damage is not noticetable then i won't even bother to fix it, buff with wax and it might be gone~
