Just got my clear lens spoiler led

I have got to say it looks really cool!! It really is one of the cheaper mods. I don't have a digi-cam with me now but I will try my best to post pics either tonight or tomorrow. I really looks nice against the silver body color.

I installed it last night as well. I gotta say, the result is great. Did you also noticed that the gap between each LED is smaller on this? The stock light has only about 46 LEDs (I think) and the new ones have about 10 more, which makes it seem like it's brighter. Love it.

Did everyone get one??

I would love to see the pictures and see how it looks on the spoiler. It sure would go great with my WDP paint and Clear turn signals on the back of my 03.

IMO, it looks good on a light color car. I saw it on Tatewaki's black TL and I wasn't too impressed with it.

It doesn't look ricey at all. A friend of mine hates ricey cars and he was skeptical of the result. After I installed it, he checked it out and really liked it. It made the back of the car looks more classy and goes really well with clear lens turning signals. Since I have a SSM TL-S, it matches really nice with the spoiler color. I don't exactly know the rules of posting other websites, but if anybody is interested, send me an email and I'll tell you where I bought it from.

So how much did this run you guys? And... How long was the install? quick and easy? It seems to be a little pinkish (the color when lit), do you think it matches well with the other brake lights?

Including shipping, it ran me a little below $50. Installation was a breeze. Some took off the spoiler to get at the screws, but I manage to get in there without doing that. The whole thing took me about 10 minutes to do. The light does seem a bit pink compared with the stock, but it still looks good IMO.

Cuz the lazy mofo that did my tinting didn't cover the brake light area. I just thought it'd look weird with that cutout if no light is going through. So I rewired it and make it come on with the spoiler light. Some think it looks strange with so many brake lights, but it's better than just having that cutout IMO. On the bright side (no pun intended), blind a$$es can now see me better when I brake so they won't rear end me.

Yup, OEM spoiler. From the 'other' board this is the correct size (17.5") for the OEM spoiler.

Good looks man. You didnt get this piece yet did you. Im trying to find out how hard it is to really put in. People have said you gotta pull the whole old led light wire from the trunk to the spoiler out and some have said to just cut the wire at the light.

The whole thing takes about 10 min or so. Just unscrew the old light, cut the wire that feeds it, splice the leads from the new light and screw the new light in. Not very hard!!

Be sure to post a pic of it. I love the new anthracite color. I bet the clear lens on that color would look really sweet!!

Okay so this bad boy just got delivered.

I got the four screws out of the existing spoiler/light fixture but I can't seem to get the light out. It feels like it is ancored on the left side where the wires are welded on.

Is there another screw hiding somewhere?

I tried yanking pretty hard but I didn't want to brake anything.

With a little muscle I got that sucker off. There was an adhesive strip behind the light fixture that was really tough to get off. I started on the right side put my finger between the light and spoiler and slid my finger to the left.

Another quick tip for you guys, the spoiler light does not light up with pressing lock/unlock on the keyless entry remote, you have to physically step on the brake pedal.

I love the look!

Pic with light on

Another angle with light on

Looking up at the light turned off

Night shot with flash

Night shot without flash

You will have to excuse the light rays, I was in a rush and the sun rays got in the way

Oh, and my other goodie that came today:

thx
At night it looks a little bit brighter, I think there are more leds inside the casing than the OEM. During the day it looks lighter and a little pinkish because of the lack of the red lens

One thing I noticed when I stepped back is that it complements the clear portions of the 02/03 tails perfectly.

I think I am going to head down to Home Depot today and pick up some water proofing seal of some kind. I am kinda worried about water getting inside the spoiler through the hole the wires are fed through. The oem lamp had a good amount of adhesive foam applied to both that hole and the entire length of the light.

Ok, time to dig up this ancient post. How's everybody's LEDs holding up? Mine is starting to blink erratically on the right most 5 LEDs. Annoying as hell. Don't know if it has anything to do with the sealing adhesive copland mentioned above. During initial installation, I made sure the original adhesive doesn't get damages so I could reuse it. This might not be good enough? Upon closer inspection, I can see the inside plastic casing is all fogged up! I just sent spoiler.com an email asking them if this is covered under warranty. Let's see what they say.

Just curious though, why do you have your rear deck lid stop light on as well as the spoiler light?

You might want to check your state law (no need to get pulled over for no reason)
In quite a few states, if you have a spoiler light, the DECK LIGHT HAS TO BE DISCONNECTED. You are only allowed three brake lights in the back.

Yeah I know. I turned it off months ago. Not because I was afraid I might get pulled over (if the cops want to pull you over and give you a ticket, they can pretty much think of anything), but it just gets more weird everytime I look at it with all those lights when I brake.
