Just got demolished by an srt-4 ... i dont want this to happen again

i believe it was a 20 or 30 roll, i instantly put two cars on him then he put abuot 5-6 cars on me.

im not to happy right now. he said he was stock ... yet he was running so rich that he was smoking black out of the back of his exhaust .. anyways i dont want this to happen again.

im contemplating a supercharger now instead of the all motor route iw as goin to go

this is really bothering me also.....the fact that a $19k car new can kick the shit out of a new tl.....

supposedly, a stock SRT4 will do 0-60 in around 5.5-5.7......but it's a neon.....you're in an acura, just because he's faster doesn't mean it's a good car.....and just because he's faster doesn't mean you can't slap on a SC and blow him away next time....

if you think it's worth it.

i've raced a new M3, and got blown away .......so i know how you feal.....cept the SRT4 is like $19k....

Don't feel bad...If you wanna spend tons of money on your car to beat it, then so be it, but the SRT-4 can handle a hand full of cars...It may not be the nicest car out there (Especially, compared to a TL-S), but that's not it's purpose. The same can be said for your car though...

Dont bother getting into an arms race with them. The SRT4's are underrated by Dodge, and put out very similar numbers to a Type S (about 260HP at the crank). At the wheels, they put down between 220-230whp stock. but IIRC, they might also crank out more torque than WHP at the wheels as well.

Mopar has packages to boost performance to somewhere around 300HP at the crank. If thats not enough, bolt on turbos can yield 400-500whp, all without touching the block of the car. The drag racing SRT4 actually uses the stock block, but with different rods. Heads and all else are stock. The block is tough as nails, and has the displacement to spool some pretty serious turbos. You won't beat them all at the end of the day in a straight up run from a roll... Just the way it is with this and many other turbocharged cars.

If you ask me, you just have to consider that you have a car that is good at a lot of things, while not being necessarily best at everything. It certainly is the jack of all trades so to speak. Has luxury, performance, prestige, etc.

The SRT4 is really good at going fast, but isnt as feature-rich as the TL. It is all about tradeoff's...

Whatever man. Don't sweat. I mean would you really want to drive a dodge neon? SRT or not? It's a shit box no matter how fast it goes.

I guess I'm older and stuff, but the kinda girls I wanna date would not be impressed by me pulling up in a Neon. An Acura, on the other hand...

you are comparing apples to oranges. so you got beat. you will probably get beat with a sc, especially if they have done any tuning whatsoever.
let it go and get back to beating other cars, or get a car thats designed to be fast right out of the box

^^ So true...

srt-4 specs:
230 turbo hp
0-60 5.5s
fastest dodge after the viper...now you understand?
it can handle G35, 350Z, S/C CL-S 6MT and most cars at this level

I feel your pain. I too have had my ass handed to me by an srt 4. At the end of the day just remember that you have an acura and that is a shitty dodge.

You can get a SC but all they have to do is step up to mopars stage 2 or higher... and then its just going to get worse.

Question

You hit that on the nail. A warthog runs fast, but does anyone want them?

Your TL will last you 10 years. The SRT-4 will last 2-3 before everything starts falling apart. Our TL-s' are luxury performance sedans. We get the chicks, not the dude in his little non-leather, plastic dash, manual seat SRT-4.

Lay off the SRT-4, for what it is designed to do it's a steal. The TL will never be a truly great racer because of its weight. I like the SRT-4, I like the TL, but taking the Dodge on in the street is pure suicide in my opinion.
