Thumbs up Just did the foglight mod

I'm sure this is old news to a lot of you guys and gals , but I just did mine and it's super easy. I think the total time it took me was like 20 min. tops. Now I can turn the fogs on without the headlights on; which is a big plus here in the Bay Area......tons of cloud and fog these few days.

Yep. Quick, cheap and easy mod and looks great (and it's also practical).

Hey, congrats on completing your mod! I haven't attempted this one yet so it's good to hear folks aren't having any problems doing it.

As for driving with headlights off and foglights on... I thought that was illegal in Cali?

Later,

V.

I'm not sure if it's illegal here in CA, but cops in S.F. has better things to do than stop me for driving with foglights. Besides, I only do it when it's cloudy or foggy, but not at night. FYI, BMW and Benz can turn their foglights on without the headlights to be on, I think that's what I'm going to say if they stop me
" But, but, but officer, I didn't do anything wrong, it was like that when I bought the car."

Of course you can do it with aftermarket foglights. I used to have a set of PIAA on my 4 Runner and I did the installation myself and in the instructions, they tell you to hook up one of the wires to the parking light so you can turn them on with only the parking light on. I think with your's, whoever installed them for you tapped one of the low beam wires, you need to figure which one and move it to the parking light wire. This mod was done by tapping the taillight wires. Did I make any sense or did I confuse you more?

I was pretty tired when I did my last post. That's what happens when you worked 13 hours. Anyways, I guess I can help, but you have to give me more details about your foglights etc.
