Unhappy Just a couple of questions

Hey Guys,

I happen to love my 2000 TL just like everyone else here and needed some advice.

1. I want to add a tl type s emblem (I have the regular 3.2) to my car. Does it require drilling or is it a stick on???

2. Has anyone changed their rear light covers to the clear/red?? I have the yellow/red and want a more updated look If so was it very hard to install??

Thanks in advance for the responses!!!!!!

I wouldn't put a TypeS emblem on your car since the car is not a TypeS model. Why pretend to be something you are not? Anyway, it doesn't require any drilling, just stick it on.

The 02 TL tails are red and clear. You can easily remove the tail lights by removing some of the screws in your trunk.

I agree. Why put Type S on a 2000 when people will know it's fake just by looking at your headlights. Maybe you should consider getting the INSPIRE and 32V instead.

I put the '02 tails on because I wanted the inspire look (before the '02's came out) but then when the 02's had them it was WAAAAY cheaper to buy locally than have them shipped from Japan.

But I wouldn't stick a Type-S sticker on the back because tats just lame. They can tell from the rims and/or the entire front end (or they can look at the regi ). I saw some guy around here with it on his car but he had the pre- '02 tails (the ones with the orange) and all I could do was laugh :yack:

Cause the '02 tails looks much better than the ones before. Having the Type S emblem on a non Type S is just plain dumb.

If that is the case, then why do anything to your car? Geez guys, you are caring waaay too much about someone elses car. Let's remember that what we do to our cars is an extension of our own individuality, done to make ourselves feel good, not to please other TL'ers. Further, everyone knows that BADGELESS is the way to go Keep 'em guessin.

I dont put RL tags on our cars, all I do is modify for a personalized look and better performance, I paid the extra money for a Type-S not $25 for an emblem, I mean thats like buying a Lex ES300 and slapping a GS400 on the back, when people relize what you did forget about it you would be a laughing stock, I know if I ever saw a mock Type S I would freak out on the person, thats not even a mod its a lie. I think everyone jumped on it because we just dont want to see people messing up a nice car, but hey Im sure there is stuff I do to my car some people would never even think twice about, but I dont advertise anything I dont have.
Plus on my final note, when they put that Type-S on the back and start getting spanked in speed all over town it gives my car a bad name.

I would agree that you shouldnt make ur car seem like something its not, cuz then u have to go through the hassle of changing the rims on the car (unless u have aftermarkets), the type S shifter knob inside the car, and then the titanium gauges

but if u are going to add the Type S emblem, you would probably need to shift over the 3.2TL emblem because if you compare both the regular and type s, ull notice the 3.2TL emblem with the Type S is shifted to the left moreso to fit the Type S emblem. So you might need to see if u can restick the regular emblem back on or ull have to buy another 3.2TL emblem from somewhere. Im not too sure if it requires drilling though, id imagine that it would though... drilling and a hair dryer if im not mistaken
