Just came back from the track

What's up guys?
Well I just came back from the track. I have some pics but I need someone to help me post them. I can send them via email and if one of you can post them for me please.
My best personal time was 16.159 at 86.388 mph, my friend best time was 16.034 at 86.564. The track is located in palmdale Ca and here is the info. LACR is 2,710 ft. above sea level.
To figure the altitude factor the formula is as follows:
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level.
So this means we did a best time of 15.552. Another factor was the temp. it was 104 degrees.
There were some americans cars like Mustangs and the gt ones were running high 15's, the cobra ones were running low 15's.
There was this Infiniti G20 that ran 15.8, the Civics and Integras were in the low 16's.
Ok that's all for now. Please I need help with the pics.

So what you are saying is that a Civic (16's) and a G20 (15.8) had better times than you???
Were you in your TL-S??
1st time at the track??
VSA on??
These #'s are all wrong!! there is no way you should be running those times even at that Altitude.
My friend just got back from a race in the Denver area and his times were only a several 10ths off not a whole second.

Why wouldn't the civic be able to beat him? I don't think he has any mods and the Civic may have been modded up the tailpipe.

Doing 16's ???
I'd be pissed as hell if i modded a Civic and it only did 16's
Stock TL-S should be able to do 14.8-15.2 easy.....I know i've done it.

It was my first time at the track with the tl-s.
We tried with the VSA on-off and it didn't make a big difference. What it made a big big difference was the a/c. We ran one time with the a/n on and we got 16.7 and that ran we had our best reaction time of .667.
It was also a 540 bmw and he ran low 16's. A Pontiac something with over 300 hp and ran 15.0 so I guess we had ok times.

Time, shmime, let the man enjoy his day at the track.

Everyone is disappointed with their times the first time they go to the track.

I really apologize!!! I really did not mean anything it just sounded like his times were way off!!...Even for the ALT. I was just trying to figure out what he was doing wrong.

Believe me I know what you mean it just takes some time to get use to!! different tracks...different lanes...it all plays a factor!! Just like street racing except its legal...(+ u get better traction on ****ty MXM4's at the track. )
My 1st couple of passes were nothing to brag about TRUST ME!! It just took awhile to get use to the car, track and the condtions.
Like 1 lane i get major wheel hop and 1 lane is smooth as hell...weird

FugittiveTLS`03 hey it's ok I think the times at that track they weren't that bad, like I said before there were some cars out there that they were runing same as myself like the bmw 540 and mustangs and we all know that that my tl-s and the other ones are faster that the times we were getting.

Times don't mean **** by itself. You have to compare it to others who were at the track on the same day.

You said a Pontiac with over 300 hp was running 15.0?? I'm guessing an LS1 Formula/Trans Am?? If that thing ran 15.0 and you got 16.1, then that's pretty darn good (assuming the Pontiac driver is at least decent.) Stock LS1 in ideal conditions run low 13's.

104 degrees is a ****ty condition to drag in. Period.

In general, you don't run the A/C at the track. Not only do your times improve, but you don't drip water onto the track itself from the condensor. Serious drag strip racers (i.e. slicks) hate water on the track. My local drag strip will even kick you out if you are dripping water on the track from your A/C. Just turn it off and roll down the window while you wait for your run, and roll up the window during the run. Your times will be much better and you won't be dropping water all the way down the track.

And no whinning about how hot it is. I raced at Pomona (LA) a few years back before they closed it to the public when it was 100 degrees + with no A/C. I don't go to the track so I can lounge in my car with the A/C on. I go to race.

Considering the temp and first time driver, a decent time. Practice will definitely get the time down.
