Just bought a TL, can i wax it whenever i start washing my car or should i wait? If so, how long?

I remember reading from this board, and elsewhere, that you can go ahead and wax even a new car. Its when you get, lets say, a bumper repainted or something that you need to let the paint "air out" for a few months. The factory paint should be baked on or, whatever it is that process is called.
