Just bought this for 10% off buy it now price using some ebay gift card deal
Acura TL Timing Belt Kit 2001 2002 2003 | eBay
For some reason it includes 31170-P8F-A01 (SERPENTINE BELT TENSIONER) which i never see included in the timing kits. In your opinion, is it worth replacing or should I just sell it to make the kit a sweeter deal? They go for around $100 on ebay.
03tls 94k miles. Car makes no noises and runs like a new car, just doing some preventative stuff.

WHEN that part fails- and it will at some point if not replaced now, the engine does a self- destruct number on the pistons and valves
Note: in the diy threads and threads on tbelt job- we always say to replace
EVERY tensioner AND roller/idler pulley, and the accessory/ac-alternator belt and its tensioner when doing the timing belt
Failure of any tbelt tensioner or rollers = the bad news!
Tensioner is not included in many package deals to keep the price artificially low, scam dumazz customers
into buying the minimum from them!!
Shops used to do that all the time/some still do! Not include the tensioners- to give a low bid and get the job in the door.
Once apart its- Oh wow! these are leaking grease and showing signs of imminent failure!
Or worse- they throw on the belt and send it down the road - some months later....I don't understand why it broke Sir
but you need a replacement engine now~

I just replaced mine today at 115k. did not replace it when doing the timing belt back then. The old one has no excessive play but don't spin as freely as the new one. kinda like spinning bicycle wheel with brake dragging a bit.
I'd say do it with timing belt all together and forget about it for the next 7 years.

lol... no excessive play but has spinning resistance,,,,ahh that falls under- you got lucky- replace it now- any evidence of grease loss?
all tensioners and idlers need to be replaced = now that some are finally doing the 105, at 155!
Not doing them will result in a failure- say bearing stops spinning... = total loss of engine!!
