Just bought my first TL

Hi everyone,

I just signed up for this board after purchasing a 2000 White Diamond Pearl TL with 36k miles. As a long time Taurus SHO enthusiast, I have now moved up to the TL, (what the SHO should have been). This car has superb quality and handles excellent! I do have some questions/comments as I am somewhat new to this car and becoming a TL enthusiast. As for this ongoing transmission problem, I registered with ownerlink and it says I am covered under some 2001 Trannmission Extension Campaign; so apparently the tranny is warrantied for 100k--Am I correct? If this is so, I should have no worries, as I only have 38k on the car now and will have upgraded to a type S by the time 100k rolls around. Second, I belive the car is still under the factory warranty..wasnt built until 8/00. My automatic temp control acts funny when you set it at full auto at 65 degrees. For some reason, the display jumps to 20 auto, and you have to mess with the knob and press the auto button several times to get it to kick back to 65 full auto. Anyone had any similar probs? I'll have it checked out under the warranty. Another thing I've noticed on my car is that for some reason the 2 front fenders were re-painted. I know the car has not been in an accident, as the whole car has all orignial VIN encoded stamps on the body parts, including the fenders. I'm assuming the dealership may have oversprayed onto them when they re-painted the bumper cover (which is common for dealers to do on cars that have had bugs and road debris damage on the plastic). The paint is slightly off and I'm going to have this professionally re-done to match. I'm hoping someone can do it to where you can't tell it's been re-painted. Just thought it was strange since a body shop verified the car is all original. Has a clean carfax too. Anyway, sorry for the long message. Let me know if any of you have had this climate control problem. I'm going to have them check out that pass. side airbag recall while I'm there too.

Thanks,

Jeremy

trans is covered for 7yrs/100k miles, whatever comes first.

factory warranty is 4yrs/50k miles, if you're still under that, then you are covered by the factory warranty.

Your A/C displays goes to 20??? The range should be 60-90. That is weird and you should have that checked out.

Carfax isn't really that great, doesn't show everything.

Pretty sure that this in in celcius not farenheit, and it's supposed to be like that in Canada. form 18(around) to 32 that's our 60-90

must be something internal that's jumping from imperial/metric
