Jesus H Christ - $975 for spring install..LABOR ONLY in ATL

Help me out here ATL guys:

Where did you have your springs put on. I plan on buying a set of Tanabe NF210 in next couple of weeks and I was calling around for labor only quotes. So Butler Tire quotes me $89 per wheel plus alignment. I thought that was kinda high so I called TiresPlus in Austell. This SOB quotes me $975. When he said it I laughed at him...

What can I expect to pay, and where did you ATL guys with drops get it done?

Don't go to a random tire shop. Go to an aftermarket, performance or import shop. Those guys can do springs in about two hours.

Just as a reference guide:

I paid $160 for the installation and allignment @ a aftermarket shop..took them about 2 1/2 hours.

Tein SS (full suspension)

3G TL...I dont think its any difference..since your only installing the springs (should be cheaper)

I have a 00 civic si (springs only) 1 hr labor job.

Sorry, But I live in Florida

when I originally had my Comptech springs put on - it was $100. you can expect to pay for 1-2 hours of work at a performance shop. Or you can do it yourself like I did when I put on the Tanabe springs. It is very easy and there is a perfect DIY on the CL site. BTW - I really like my current setup with the Tanabe springs and Tokico struts.

Yeah I've been calling around...Lowest is $89 per spring. I called a honda-acura performance shop and they want 150 for the front and 250 for the rear. They DIY doesn't look so bad, but if I could get it done for under $200 it would be worth it to not have to f*** with it.

My buddy will help me, but with a baby boy its hard to skip out for a day to install my springs. I just wanna drop the Tanabe's off pay a couple hundred and come pick it up in the afternoon.

I know there are a good bit of TLer's in Atlanta on this site...I wanna hear there opinions before I decide. Looks like I might be doing it myself.

I know I'll need a 15mm and a 17mm I've got those. How expensive are hex wrenchs in the 5mm size?

By the way you guys rock

Actualy it would be faster to swap the springs and shocks (full sususpension) then it would be to just swap the springs. Simply because when you put springs on you have to remove the shock and spring, take them apart with a spring compressor, remove the shock, install the shock into the new spring, compress the spring, then put the spring and shock back into the car. If you were to swap the spring and shock you could eliminate all the steps in the middle, just take out the stock spring and shock and install the new shock and spring.

Oh I did mine myself, it was easy... just need a spring compressor and some garage tools.. I actually had to take the H&R Sport springs off my 99tl put the stock springs back on, then take the stock springs off my new tl-s and put on the H&R Sport springs..

Do it yourself..... it's more gratifying. Then when someone else asks the same thing you can tell them how. I did it to my CRX and to my brothers Integra. Not to hard.

Whoa, thats horribly overpriced. I got springs/sways/struts/intake/and exhaust ALL installed at the same time for around 400. Definitely go to an import/aftermarket/mod shop.

I just got my pulley install done at Eiffel's place in Marietta. Eiffel use to be head mechanic at one of the Acura dealerships here in ATL i forget which one. This was my first job with him and he and his team did an excellent job. All of my other mods were done in MD when I lived there. I would go back to him for anything else i do in the future, and his price was decent as well. Anyhow here's his info
Eiffel's place - 770-509-8883 - 1791 Roswell road
you can also try:
Acura/Honda specialist - 770-603-9197 714 veterans pkwy
Battleground engineering - 770-319-9605/404-881-4331 (very popular tuner shop, a lot of folks from importatlanta.com use them. And they do excellent work from what i hear.)
hope this helps. If you choose Eiffel tell him the guy with the anthracite tl that got the UR pulley installed sent you. Good luck.....

Your right. The guy had to take it apart and cut something (plastic) and put them all back together and reinstall. but he was a friends friend and ended charging me pretty cheap

It was a ground control coil over setup.

I had TireStar in Chambee, GA install my Comptech springs about 2 1/2 years ago. I paid $290 including alignment.

This fall, I plan on replacing the Comptech springs myself as the back springs are starting to rust pretty badly. I will replace either with the H&R Sport or the Tanabe NF210 and Blistein Sport shocks and springs.

Sweet. I'm going to do some more calling around. I am leaning towards putting them on myself, but If I can find a decent price, I'd rather not f*** with it.

You guys have helped me out, I appreciate it. I also got a couple of PM's from people, even offering to help. Goes to show what a community is all about...

I know a shop that does it for 150 in Marietta. Let me know if you still need the number.
I was calling butler tire too.. what a rip off. I thought I was gonna spend at least freaking 300 dollars just for install. I ended up paying 150 for new shocks, springs and rear camber kit from a reputable shop.

I got about 3 days a week free since I am in college...I am down with helping you install one weekend...and I wouldn't mind picking up one of those cheap spring compressors for when I get my springs on, unless you already have one of those. I'm pretty handy, so we could def. get this done.

And on a side note, all you ATLers get your asses to the meets!

Check out my other threads if you wanna see what else I've done.
