jerky performance - tranny or carb or ?

My 2003 TL-S has dead spots on acceleration where it just cuts out propulsion for a second then grabs. Sometimes it does this several times.
Also on a downhill it "flutters' like the transmission does not know what gear to be in or how to coast.
Anyone experience such erratic behaviors. Am I seeing symptoms of fuel system or tranny or then again something else like electronics?
Thanks so much for your help.

Mine does the same thing. I have been back to Acura countless times. It is difficult to duplicate. All they tell me is that everything is normal. I think it is the transmission--my second one, I might add. This car sucks. Wish I never bought it.

Carb? There is no Carb in your car...there hasn't been in any new car for some time now. Are you referring to the MPI or throttle body?

Dude... that sounds like a tranny problem right there. I have a good experience with that in my prvious accord. Reason for me having the TL right now. Basically when you hit the gas, u see the RPM rise but the car dotn move, and it catches on like a few seconds later, and when it catches on, the car jerks forward. If this is what ur experiencing its a tranny problem and advise you to take it to the dealer. If you think it might electronics, then just simply reset the ECU in your car. I think this can be done by just unplugging ur battery for a few minutes and the plugging it back in. This shoudl reset your ECU chip that controls the gear ratios and when and where to shift. Remember when u do this that obvously your radio presets will be lost and u need to have ur radio code on hand. Also your drivers auto window will stop functioning and it needs to be reset. U can do this by basically holding the drivers side window down till the window rolls down all the way and keeping the button depressed for 20 seconds, and do the same when raising the window up.

Good Luck

My car also does the same thing. When i stomp on the gas on the highway the rpm's rev up but the car does'nt seem to accelerate for a few seconds. Is this a sign of a tranny problem. Also, seems to be fine in SS mode.
