No, there are quite a lot of people on here that did it on their ride and it looks great.
I'm think about debading the "ACURA" and put in "INSPIRE" and debadge the "3.2TL" and leave the "type S" alone.

Would you replace the Acura logo with a Honda "H", as well?? Blingbling Girl's TLS looks sharp, but it might look more "appropriate" with the Honda "H", since the Inspire is sold that way JDM:

Alien, I saw a white TL-S the other day that had shaved all the badges off of the back and all they had were the 3.2TL Type-S badges in the centre of the trunk.

It looked pretty sharp!

I think that if you got the Inspire badging without the kit, it would still look good.

Putting those badges on isn't rice, IMO.

BTW, where are you planning on getting the emblems from?? A&J? Ben's done all that to his.

Talking my spring project!

Hey Alien ...

Do what you want to do to your car ... at the end of the day, it's yours ... who cares what others think!

This is me ...
Your suggestion? That's exactly what I'm gonna do to my car. I have the INSPIRE trunk lettering (and the Modulo side skirt badging) -- gonna remove the ACURA & 3.2 TL in the back. When I have everything finished, I'll post some pics. Not 100% sure if anyone on the board has the same setup. Most afficinatos prefer to complete JDM conversion (H emblem in back and front grill, etc...)

Yes ... the bodykit adds so much sportiness to the car. I agree -- do the install yourself (follow the FAQ directions) and save labour costs ... You won't regret it!

mods: OEM kit & spoiler, 20% tints, PIAA fogs, 3A tips, painted calipers & y-pipe, INSPIRE sills
future mods: springs & sways (spring 2k3), cleared corners, INSPIRE trunk badging, Modulo badging (have 'em)

a full JDM conversion doesn't stop at the badging....there's also the engine plate plus the interior (i.e. airbag, shift knob, dash, etc...) and if you're anal, you should change out the stereo and navigation because they both say "Acura" on them, plus in Japan, they use km/h, not mph...so if you're REALLY anal, you'd change the speedo to a metric one

im about to do the jdm conversion myself.... im gonna do it ALLLLLL. value has the engine plate so thats no biggie and the shift knob. then theres another website... i forgot the adress that has all the other parts for less $. for the steering whell.... i am NOT geting the inspre one... fuk that... toooo much money... im gonna take of the A emblem... paint it silver (the color of my car) and place one of the H stickers that go on the wheels. if it looks ghetto then i dunno what else i will do.

for the jdm conversion these are the parts required (to do it compeltely):

the front grill w/ H
the rear H and Inspire lettering
the Modulo side skirt emblems
the Honda of America emlbems for the C-pillar
the Honda of America shift knob
the Type S emblem
the engine cover plate
the Inspire door sills
then of course the steering wheel

and i believe thats it... am i missing anything?

Would you take the 3.2 TL off a 2000 or is it different from the 2003?

I was thinking about doing the conversion, but I'm not a fan of the C-Pillar badges (makes it look too Buick Regal'ish).
Those that have done it, what was the damage ($$$) on it?? Also dont you have to change out the center cap for the rims?

well... if u get them from value they are +/- $50 for 2 of them... as for the decals on the rims... i believe they are just stickers.

bling-bling girl and EvoRTL-S have two of the sweetest rides on this site yet in different ways...

Especially EvoRTL-S: I'm not even big on drops like that but that is a fine, fine ride...

After looking at many of yours, I'm getting swayed on the idea of getting the body kit (when I despised them before), but I think I'm gonna leave the JDM stuff alone.

I think the JDM is unique and very cool and all, but it is kinda like having a carbon fiber hood: To someone who doesn't know, they will certainly ask, and you'll spend 20 minutes trying to explain it and it won't ever sink in...

bug: you can find a type s emlblem like that on ebay. heres one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33643
