Unhappy It's time to say goodbye

After 4 blown trannies and numerous other problems, the TL will soon be gone(maybe). I have had enough. I have a surprise up my sleave but need something in the mean time to drive. At my local acura dealer they have an 02 rsx-S, for sale for a relatively cheap price. The car has only 5000 miles on it and i put a small deposit to hold it. It has the 7yr/100,000mi. warranty on it, including the 4yr/50,000 mi. bumper to bumper warranty. I just want a manual car that will get me from point a to b and not downshift on me or slip. Plus the aftermarket for this car crushes what we have for the TL, i have so many parts to choose from, parts like bolt on turbos, heads, inatek manifolds, exhaust manifolds, headers, intakes, exhausts, cams, cam gears, pullies, n20 and others. Thats not including the limitless supply of aftermarket interior and exterior accesories. I cant wait. It's sad to say goodbye to my car, but i will never leave this board. I am just frustrated at the situation.

I feel your pain, but ....

Its too bad about your car. But do you think any of your mods help to further any of your tranny failures? So I guess your Magnaflow exhaust will fit an '02 TLS -- if so, I'd be interested if you're willing to part with it.

BIGMAN you are doing the right thing. I must add however that its interesting around here that it only takes one member with 3000 plus posts to say they've had enough with the TL's well known problems and then people are ok with it, but when someone with only a hundred or so posts says virtually the same thing, someone is always so quick around these boards to pounce all over them and say they should "just quit their b|itching.. and that all cars have problems...blah blah ... etc etc..."

The TL has been a disappointment in quality to me. I wont bother listing all the reasons why because most everyone knows the issues already.

Hopefully you will have better luck with an RSX, although it is a much smaller car than a TL so i assume that it still fits in your lifestyle. Interest that you've remained brand loyal given what you dealt with your current Acura product. I wont give them my repeat business when my TL is time for replacement.

Give me time to think, i already see who asked for what first and those guys have dibs, especially local guys. I will even help the local guys with the installs. But i am only 22 yrs old, and the rsx fits into my lifestyle perfectly. No need for a family sedan when i can have a fun sporty coupe. Plus for 3 grand, i can have a Jackson Racing Supercharger bolted on to a stock car and run mid 13's. I have seen a video of an rsx with i/h/e, hondata gaskets, fpr, hondata option 4, supercharger, upgraded injectors, cams, cam gears, cluth, flywheel and suspension run a 12.7 at the track at only 7 psi, the thing was a beast and is stret driveable and best of all everything was bolt on. What i love is that i can spend 3 grand on the supercharger that comes with a hondata ecu upgrade, an electronically controlled fuel pressue regulator and i will run 13's all day. But for 5 grand, i'll be lucky if my tl doesnt blow another tranny with the comptech.

just do a search on tranny, transmission, tranny failure, transmission failure and you will read tons of problems.

Dude,
I just go the 00 TL for my wife, and now i hear about this tranny thing.... I read somewhere that there may be a problem, but Acura was suppose to do a recall or extend warrant or something.....

Oh yea, I'm interested in the kit and the wheels. Let me know.
Thanks. Good luck with the RSX. One of my friend has one and it rocks. Took my prelude by 1/2 car length from light to light. Seats are super nice also in the RSX.
