Iridium spark plugs

I was at the HKS site looking at their exhaust and I stumbled upon iridium spark plugs and it indicated that there are different heat ranges for our vehicles. Can someone explain?

Denso makes iridium plugs for our cars. IK16 is the part # in our standard heat range. IK20 is a "colder" plug.

The IK16 is for stock or lightly modified motors (I/H/E is lightly modified btw).

Use the colder plug for heavily modified (I/H/E + ported, cammed etc) or nitrous/sc/turbo applications where detonation might be a problem.

On a TLS with I/H/E + maybe a ECU timing mod, I would go with the 20s because of the higher compression in the S engine.

NGK now makes iridium plugs for our engines now, but I'm not sure of the correct part #s.
