Intake Sound w/o Resonator
Now, don't bust on me for this. I just want to relate this experience.
I am driving an Impala company car today. 2003 model with the V6. There is a definite 'growl' when I step on the throttle, doesn't even have to be WOT.
Is this what the TL sounds like without the intake resonator or with a CAI (except the Icebox)? If so, I'll stick with my K and N replacement filter and forget about a CAI or removing the resonator.

the K&N Filter would not insert a growl in your intake system, however removing the resonator and/or installing an aftermarket intake will definately give you more of a growl, but im not certain it will be similar to the Impala. There is however, a roar in the VTEC range when you remove your resonator and/or add an aftermarket intake. You might want to look into an aftermarket exhuast while you are at it. i hope this helps.

there is no way the tl will sounmd like the impalla. the impalla doesnt make nay good engine noise. its a OHV engine, not a OHC. ohc engines tend to make more intake noise. but its a good noise and only when using heavy throttle
pull out your resonator and find out if you like the sound. it shouldnt take more than 30 min, and if you dont like the sound you can just put it back in. most prefer it out
