Intake and exhaust HP noticable????

OK... I have not done and mechanical or engine mods as of yet. I have a white 99TL with oem kit, chrome type-s wheels, 02 tails and exhaust tips. I do not want my car to be loud or expect it to be extreamly fast. I do not see a real point in spending thousands of $ just to make my car as fast as a type-s when I could just buy one.

My question is, does an intake and or an exhaust make a noticable difference in power? I would get the comptech exhaust and thinking about the AEM intake, but I do not know what one to get the cold air or V2. What is the best intake?

If you want to do engine mods. Go with headers and intake....

I have Stone Racing Headers and AEM CAI and my car feel so much faster... It only gets loud after 4500 rpm... Other than that it kinda sounds stock with a little more growl in...

I started out with headers first but felt a little improvement but once I got the intake it was a different story.. I think if you get one get the other because they compliment eachother very well..

The V2 is also Cold Air. The difference between the AEM and AEM V2 is that the V2 is that the tubing. AEM is 2.5 inches for TL-P and 3 inches for TL-S and I think the V2 is 5 inches in diameter...

Hope that helps......

someone is selling used headers and exhaust for like a g. both are comptech but from a CL. the exhaust is not catback so I dont think it really makes a diff in HP. If I got both I would also get an intake. How much to install headers you think. I live in Bayonne I see you are from Jersey. What year is your car?

if you have a non type s car, go with intake and headers first, but the exhaust will make a huge difference as well if you go with a full cat back. Those 3 mods compliment each other so well.

If you dont want the added noise from the intake get the comptech icebox. You should get gains through the entire rpm range. The Comptech Cat Back exhaust will only get you minimal gains of 1-2hp and some loss in low end torque. That is from what I have heard on this forum.
