Instrument Cluster Swap Question

Instrument Cluster Swap Question
I found a 2002 TL-S instrument cluster at a wrecking yard that I am going to install in a friends 2002 TL (black gauges). The questions are will the mileage stay the same after swapping the cluster or will the car pick up the mileage from the wrecking yard cluster. The wrecking yard cluster has 49,000 miles and the original cluster in the car now has 11000 miles.
Also will any check engine light come on with this swap?
Thanks.
Manny

Yeah... I think the milege is in memory somewhere NOT in the cluster... Try it! Ask the wreking yard guys if they have a return policy... worked for me when I had to get a new door for my accord... No-Hassel/No-Questions asked return...

UA5-TL is right, I heard some1 needed to get his cluster replaced and it said 0 miles when he put the new one in...........so the dealer put a sticker somewhere stating what his real miles were.

TL-S cluster will swap into 1999 TL but it will not be a plug and play. You have to do a lot of modifications to make it work in 1999 TL.
For the mileage, it will not show your original car's mileage. It will show whatever your new cluster mileage says. I know this because I had to replace my cluster with used one for my 1999 TL.
If you go to dealer to replace it, your car history will say that your instrument cluster has been replaced, so it won't be good when you try to sell your car.
