Installing INDIGLO GAUGE on 99-01 TLs
Here is some tips on how to install the indiglo gauge on 00-01 TLs.
Eric(Edub-TL) posted great post about how to do the wiring. I'll use his thread as outline and will add more info & pics.
materials/ Tools
Phillips Screwdriver
Wire Cutters
Needle Nose plyers
Scissors
Very small flathead screwdriver
1 inline fuse holder ($2.50)
1 250 7.5A fuse (6A or 8A can probably be used) ($3.00 pack of 5)
fuse size = 1/4" x 1 1/4"
1 Standard size female tab connector .250 width
1 Butt connector ($2.00/pk of 10)
Assemble the gauges and wire fuses first and test your wiring before trying to take anything apart from the car.
Cut the inline fuse wire in the middle, one end goes to the positive wire from the gauges, connect together with the butt connector.
The other goes into the femal connector. Put your fuse in the holder, mine had a spring the hold the fuse in place inside the holder.
Here is how the wiring goes:
Gauge (+)---butt_conn---inlinefuse_fuse_holder----f_conn
Once you get the wiring done, connect the female conn to the back of the fuse panel (plug #3, T - This gets power when the headlights are on.)
Gauge (-) black wire to the screw at the top of the fuse panel on the front side.
When you putting the switch for the indiglo gauge, make sure to line-up the red dot to the same way.
Here is my switch location.
Turn on you headlights and gauges should now have power. Play with the switch, holding down the black button lights the numbers more or less.
NOW, you're done with the wiring.

There is one thing you might want to remember. Make sure not to turn your key in ignition after you take out the gauge cluster out from the car. Some of members having a problem with SRS indicator. So do NOT put or turn your key.
Tim has nice instruction on how to take out the gauge cluster.
Gauge Cluster
Follow this instruction to take out the gauge cluster. Tim also stated the you have to take them apart into 3 pieces. (plexi glass w/black housing, white gauge, white circuit board) But you don't have to take those apart into 3 pieces. You just have to take the glass w/black housing out.
Now, THE HARDEST part of all, those damn two sided tape that came with it. It is clear, so you *could* if you wanted to put the whole thing on the gauge, and then put the indiglos on top. But I didn't want to obstruct the light over any of the indicators so I cut the tape to put it over only the spots where there were no indicators. It was hard because it's very sticky, so when you try and put your new gauges on top of it, it doesn't allow you to move it w/o messing up the tape. Good thing is, that if you ever wanted to go back to stock, this tape looks as if it is easy to remove later.
After you put the gauges in place, you can route the wires as below.
You can take those 3 wires out to the hole on the back.
Before you put the glass back, you might want to check the needles to see if those will stuck or not. Mine got stuck after I put everything back. (I ended up taking out 3 times.)
So make sure to check everything before you put them back on.
After everything is set, you just have to put everything back back together and reinstall.

Here are some of the tips when you installing your indiglo gauge.
1. Be patience and take your time.
2. Do not put or turn the key in ignition after taking out the gauge cluster out from the car. You might have a problem with SRS indicator later.
3. When you lay your indiglo gauge over the stock gauge, make sure to line it up properly. You don't your indicators off the center when you turn on.
4. Check properly with the needles to see if those stuck to the surface. It's better idea to cut the bottom of the needles to be make sure.
Remember that this is just the guide line for the installation. Always trust your judgement.
Good Luck!!

If I remember correctly, the gauges were meant for the 2000 and up models with 5 speed. 1999 model is only 4 speed, so if you put the indiglo guages on, you will get a hole showing (which would make your guage cluster look stupid, IMHO). That's why I never bought one, even though you could hook it up to a 1999 model.
And oh, good instructions Paul!
