Arrow Installed LED's in trunk But they don't turn off when car turn's off.

I just installed them, they are hooked up to my amplifier. The negative is plugged into the Ground and the positive wire is hooked up to the BATT terminal on the amp. Thing is when i take my keys out they don't shut off somehow there getting constant power. I tried switching the positive wire into the REM input on the amp, but they didn't light up at all. Will leaving them on drain my battery or my capacitor? it's a total of 12 LED'S.

You could always tap the wires for your light in the trunk. There is a thread on here about installing cold cathodes in the trunk. Just tap the same + and - wires for your leds. That way they turn off when the trunk is closed.

Of course they are going to stay on, the Positive to the battery is always hot. Hook them up to the trunk light

is there any harm with leaving them always on? Like i said its only 12 LEDS so it shouldn't be using that much juice

of course there is going to be a problem leaving them on. Its a BATTERY, it will drain the juice slowly. Even thou your car will charge it back up, it will eventually lose its cold start power. FIY: i had a 8 led securuity light that blinked when i armed the security system it eventually reduced the ability to start the car up as good as when it wasnt on.

:pwned:....the only reason your amp turns off when your car is off is because its wired to a switched wire....."remote turn on"......see if your car is off/the key is not set to on there is no power running....
