InJEN vs AEM CAI

im thinking about getting an intake for my '99TL and im undecided on what to choose... The AEM is 2.75in while the inJEN is 3in diameter piping...what will give me more power+throaty sound?

whats the HP/torque difference between that V2 and the AEM CAI? Icebox?

Ive read real good things about the AEM, none about the inJen...anyone with comments ise welcome and appreciated.

Icebox for best gains...other intakes probably just work the same.

Edit* Also, you don't have to clean the Icebox as much as compared to an open-ended filter intake like AEM, Injen, etc.

actually the comptech recommends you clean the foam filter on the Icebox every oil change. It does get really dirty because it's a foam filter. My friend just changed the foam filter with a K&N filter on his CLS because of the cleaning issues. Only problem with CAI is the filter would get wet and wash off the oil that is used in filtration, so you need to get it reoil about 7500k miles.

AEM will tell you that they don't make CAI for 99 TL, it's because we have a coolant hose running thru the stock air box (00-03 TL doesn't). If we bypass the coolant hose then we can put the CAI in, also the other issues with the 99TL is the alarm horn needs to be remounted somewhere else, since the CAI uses the mounting point there.

If the Injen piping is 3", then you're looking at the TL TypeS, it is not for my TL-P, which is 2.75"

Difference between V2 and V1 CAI is that V2 will give you a even power gain thru the RPM bands, while the CAI is mostly at the top bands.

V2 also has a better sound.

The draw back to the V2 is that you can not put on an air bypass like on the V.1, it's there to prevent hydrolocking (which is rare but better to have insurance).

Injen is good as the AEM with similar power gain, but AEM seem to be popular on our boards.

hmmm... what did you do to mount your CAI?
the InJEN 2 piece fits the our '99, 1/4inch wider does that mean better brathing/power?

how do these compare to icebox?
