I think the consensus is even from a catback you won't get more than 5hp since our exhaust is already free flowing, it is more for the sound, but I will let you know, I just bought the Apexi WS2 catback kit for my '03 TL-S, that UPS guy better get here fast!!!!

Wouldn't that be about the same as getting a custom 2.5" catback with Magnaflows? I don't want the exhaust to be obnoxiously loud. The point is to extract as much power out of this exhaust without spending a load of money and keeping it quiet. thanks.
The CompTech site has dyno runs that show exactly what you get (not what someone 'feels') with their exhaust systems, both cat back and axleback. A Magnaflow system wont be any better.

I don't know about the pix posted for Apexi WS II. I know that pix was posted before i bought my WS I. I called Apexi and they told me they were not available for the TL at the time. Also, according to the sale rep, the only difference between WS I and WS II is the tip. The design it the same but the tip is thicker.

According to the pix, the exhaust on the black TL has ovalish tips... while the blue TL shows round tips. I don't think that's the right picture of WS II. I guess we'll find out once the real WS II is posted.

I agree that some srouces are not upto date as far as keeping track of how the exhaust looks, but here is another pic from option racings website along with the picture of the WS I. From the pictures you can tell that the only differnece is infact the tip. As far as that black tl well it is apexi ws II , i cant recall the members screen name but he posted those pics a while back and listed that it indeed was an apexi WS II.

^^ WS II

^^ WS I

again... the above pix of ws II has round tips. It's almost identical in design to WS I except it has thicker tips. The pix of black TL has oval tips... i don't think that the muffllers on the black TL is WS II.

the users name is AcuraTL2000, he bought the Apexi in june of 2004. Didn mention if it was I or II, but it is WS II. I have seen this exhaust in person as well, the tips only look oval where as they are not, they are exactly as the WS I tips are but just are rolled at the end. Heres a link to AcuraTL2000's TL pics. He also states that it is infact an Apexi, about half way down the page.

Yes I did get them from the first link (Overboost) the other place I found that had Apexi was Adventon.com but it was the WSI, an IMO the WS2 tips look much better. Hopefully I will be able to get the exhaust on this week, but I will defintely get pictures up soon of the system before it is on. By the way after shipping it cost me about $580. Overboost was very easy to work with.

^^ Glade that it worked out good, even 580 isnt bad compared to comptech or greddy. I do agree on your opinion on the tips, they look way better then the one on the WS I. Can't wait to see them on your car.

Exhaust is going on saturday and the sound clips/vids will be soon to follow. The rolled tips are definitely oval, not a dramatic oval, but enough that they are not circles. With shipping I paid about $580 through www.overboost.com

^^ I believe the exhaust note would be very aggressive, since there is only one small resonater in the middle of the B pipe. Compare that resonater to the two huge ass ones on the factory B pipe. Looks wise i would have to give the Apex exhaust 9/10 it ranks right up there with comptech. Now only if we can get our hands on the sound clips.

^^ Yes the exhaust note is pretty aggressive, but sounds prefect to me. Nice deep rumble at idle. Yeah, I know, how about some sound clips. I just got a camera and tripod from work and I am in the process of getting a camera guy, if not I will just use the tripod. I am having a blast with the exhaust it sounds great, couldn't be happier. To hold you over until tonight when i go out and do some runs in front of the camera, here are some pics. Yes there is only one resonator and the install was soooo easy, if it weren't for two of the three nuts on the cat that were a pain in the a**, it would have taken no more than 45 minutes to and hour. Enjoy!!

Alright, who wants a video?? Or I should say who wants to host it. It is only 2.5mb. If nobody will host I would be more than happy to email it just PM me and I will get it to you. This is just the first clip, I am going to get more from inside the car, just didn't have time last night.

By the way the only mods other than the Apexi WSII exhaust is that I pulled the intake resonator and have a K&N filter, that's it.

^^ Yeah I have thought about it, but I'm stuck between 2 things right now, headers, and the underbody spoiler kit. More speed or more show??? Who knows..

SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWEEEEEEEEEEEEET, that thing sounds so much like the Greddy Evo2 minus the fart can looks. Awesome job, btw go with the headers if you are considering between them and underbody kit.

What I am probably going to do is get some shorter rubber exhaust hangers so it pulls the mufflers closer to the body, hopefully it will look better then, I like the way it looks now, but I think it will look better.

Thanks

^^ One thing you have to remember especially on the part of the vid where I am coming at the camera is that having the intake resonator removed is making a lot of the noise. Above 3000 rpm with the Apexi exhaust is slightly louder than stock, but what I hear more than anything is the intake. I am planning on getting some in car clips tonight and will post them up tomorrow.

lmfao! Nice video. I thought it was funny how you left a camera in the middle of a dark road. Then when you came back I thought you accidently drove off the road! No the less that exhaust sounds so sweet. Looking foward for the second video!

If you want a nice sound as well as the ability to quiet things down when you want to, buy CompTech and add the Quiet Tip inserts.
