I'm getting a little pissed with my TL-S!
I keep getting that rattling, buzzing sound whenever I back out of the driveway. And it happens sometimes in drive right after backing out. I'm taking it to the dealer next week. But this sh*t is not right. You pay $30K+ for a car and you get stupid sh*t like that. My Honda Civic never had any sounds even after 75k miles. Hopefully the dealer will fix it.
Otherwise the car is fine, but its that damn noise that really makes it look bad in my eyes. If any of you experienced this problem, let me know.

Hey, relax... there. Now, the buzzing is from the Air bag system. you should hear two buzzes. This is normal and matter of fact, there was a topic on this subject a few weeks ago. I have experienced the problem and brought it to the dealer and that's what they told me as wel as other users in the forum. The squeaking noise may be from your moonroof, close the cover and see if you still hear the noise. I am taking my car back to the dealer to have that fixed. Hope this helps.

So far the only disappointment I have with my TLS is the wind noise when the windows are down. It is just too loud and annoying. And also, while driving some bumpy roads, I hear rattling noise coming from the armrest when it is extended out. Does anyone have this problem??

Describe your noises, do these happen only when you reverse or also when you are travelling over bumpy roads??
There are no noises when I reverse HOWEVER there are sometimes squeaks and rattles when I go over bumps or a rough road. Its not too loud but defintely audible. Seems to be coming from the right side sometimes from the front dashboard, sometimes from what seems ot be the right doors. I'm guessing a.c vent, seatbelt or maybe the seats. .
I guess I could turn the stereo on to drown out these noises but thats not the point. One shouldn't have to deal with this sh*t in the intitial stages of ownership. I owned a ES 300 prior to this and it was a much quieter car, even at 60,000 miles. Yeah it drove like a boat but it was put together with a lot more precision and attention to detail.
Fortunately the Acura has a lot going for it power and performance, so I'm willing to overlook these shortcomings.
Was going to take my car in to the dealers yesterday but on the way to work, on the bumpy road that I take, the car was absoutely silient. NO rattles or squeaks. The one time when I actually wanted the car to rattle & squeak it didn't. So I called and cancelled the appointment. No point going all the way there and have no noises when I take the mechanic for a test drive. I guess I 'll just wait until the noise gets worse and more consistent.

I don't know what noises the people here are experiencing when backing up as I have NO noises coming from my TL-S when I put the car into reverse and backup; maybe I am fortunate. But then again my center console pops up on it's own and the dealer has a new latch on order to fix that problem.

I really don't mean to be an ass here... but isn't air rushing into the car going to cause noise no matter what when the windows are down?

Aside for wind noise at high speeds, My TL-s is built solid and quiet. I have no rattles and creaks etc. that some of you describe.
This is an extremely smooth and quiet car
Oh there is some engine noise when I rev it to over 4500 rpm's and I like it!

The most noise I have ever heard from my car was when I was racing against my crazy ass friend in the middle of the night who basically took his toyota corolla to its limit. I was going a little over 120 and the windows/moonroof sounded like they were ready to blow off. Scared the bejeezuz out of me, but not nearly as much as the feeling of getting pulled over or the thought of some random animal crossing the freeway (like what happened to my other friend).

BTW...I raced against my first civic last night and found it pretty hilarious. It was a bright red 2 door civic EX (manual), and the only visible mods were a body kit and rims. I didnt know he wanted to race until I saw him peel out during the light, in which case I gunned it, and it was pretty much over before I hit 3rd gear.

There are 2 different noises that I hear:
One is definitely coming from my seatbelt buckle near the armrest. It's literally squeaking when I driving around the parking lot area where the road is bumpy. I am waiting for my dealer to get the part so they can replace it.
Another one is from the moon-roof. There is actual glass moon roof and the one you slide open before you open the glass moon roof. When I just slide open the first one w/o opening the moon roof and drive around, I hear noises coming from there. Damn, I don’t know why, I will go back to the dealer.

Forgive me for the intrusion.... I am a CL-S owner. The buzzing noise you hear is very common and is the ABS system equalizing or at least that's what I have been told by quite a few mechanical types. Wind noise in the CL is low because of the window design. In my previous 4 dour sedans, it always helped the noise and wind factor by lowering the rear windows as well as the fronts. Just my opinion.

Almost all of my cars have made "start-up" noises when the car initially moves either forward or backward. Today's cars with VSC, TCS, ABS, and SRS systems are computers on wheels. In fact M-B recently moved from copper wire to optical fiber to carry all of the in-car message traffic. When I back-up in my TL-S and MDX I hear what sounds like a muted grinding noise that I can tell is the ABS system going through self diagnostics. Moving forward I can hear a different noise that is similar to a sound my M-B used to make as the traction control system initialized itself. To me, none of these sounds are offensive nor to I put them in the category of "defects" or anything unique to Acura.

It is a fact of life now that $30K+ car is an entry level 'luxury' sport sedan. We are paying for many things like new technology, advertising and product liability exposure costs. The car is smarter, safer, but as inflation eats away our purchasing power, we cannot expect perfection for $30K+.
