Icebox question, Yes I already did a search.

I noticed all of the threads about the comptech icebox are pretty old. Just wondering if anyone has installed one lately, I read alot about fit problems. And screws that secure the top of the box striping out. Did comptech ever fix those issues before they went under? I really wanted an icebox but after reading maybe I'll go with the injen. I have an 03 type-s

the bolt problem wasnt very common. If the filter is checked often and some anti seize is applied to the threads they wont freeze up. Havent heard of the newer ones having this problem

Thanks for the info, Im not doubting the cai's work but from what I can see the stock TL's airbox doesnt take hot air out of the engine compartment. It looks like its routed down into the front fender just like any other cai does. Am I wrong?

No, it does take air from the engine bay. It just takes odd turns up and down through the resonator to reduce noise.

not if you remove the resonator
