Unhappy IB Lookin' For NAV?

I just leased a '01 TL a month ago. I wish I would have found this site before. I didn't get a NAV system. I Think I Made A MISTAKE . I asked the question to the dealer "Oh DVD based nav, does it play dvds?" (I'm very much into Home Theater) after HE said NO i thought Oh well I don't travel all that much and $2,000 Is alot. Now i Find Out i could patch in and use the screen, bummer. Any sugestions? Salvaged nav out of wrecked car?,Go with aftermarket screen?

I think you can just get an aftermarket navi. Check out Snook's ride. I think he got the pioneer screen fit into the CD holder above the headunit. That's a really tight setup. I have pics and a video of that screen. But I don't know how to post it here. So, let me know and I can E-mail it to you. With that setup you don't have to replace the headunit.

Of you can just replace the headunit...

hope this helps...

Well, at least all you people could have get it as an option. In canada we don't have the navi as an option ... or else I would have got one...

All the GPS are capable of receiving information, it's just the map data. I'm sure Acura will have map data available for canada in the future, so just hang in there. Maybe they will have it by next year. If you check out the acura website about the navigation system, one of the question is "will it cover canada?" They say they are considering it. Maybe you canadians need to bug Acura to hurry up with it.

Thumbs up

Thanks Danny & SL, I think for the $2000 I could add an aftermarket (pioneer) screen and still be happy, I guess i can just sit and watch a movie if I get Lost!
